Ornaments are used to adorn oneself.
Idol worship is a form of worship wherein the Energy of the Lord is invoked in a physical form and worshipped.
the only link that Ornaments and Idols have is the purpose of adorning the idols with ornamets. Nuthing more to it.

Idol worship is when something becomes more important to you than the love of God. For example if you smoke.
On the other hand, a ring or bracelet, or necklace, in other words jewelry unless overly done is usually not ahead of God.
But to adorn ones-self to attract attention could be wrong.
