ignorance. being too obsessed with that looks good and makes you cool rather then caring about what is going to happen in the future...it sucks, but its true.

Critical thought and the ability to live in a fully conscious manner.
For the last couple of generations the kids have been taught by churches and schools to follow a prescribed path and learn everything by wrote, and not to question anything. They have become the perfect consumers... mindless, with an insatiable appetite for more and more stuff.
Add to that the "self-esteem" programs being taught in the schools over the past 15 years... the kids aren't taught to achieve anything, just to expect everything to be handed to them on a platter along with a pat on the head. They get out of school thinking there is a good job waiting for them, then get angry at the world when they find out they have been sold a bill of goods.
Most of these kids have not bothered to question anything they have been spoon-fed. Most people don't start to know who they are until after age 30.

There are lots of problems facing this generation that wasn't in the last, but a lot of problems were born from what the last generation failed to accomplish. But if I had to single out one thing I would point out to the lack of households who have their mother and father present. Its becoming more and more common to have a single household where the government takes the place of the man.

Without the man in the house the children lack the necessary discipline to ensure that they live decent lives. If either parent is missing in the household then the key element each gender provides will be missing, thus making the children and home very unstable.

If you observe the 1950s and before two family homes were very common and having children out of wedlock and single family homes weren't the ideal. Now a days, casual sex, cohabitation and having children with multi spouses and single parenting is becoming more of a ideal. I think its time for parents to step up their requirements and stop leaving the teaching to the public school systems and actually become a parent and teach their children the necessary lessons to make them have a solid foundation in life.

Problem areas like ghettos and projects, I guarantee you that 90% of the families who have children that grow up to become criminals have single parent homes and in many cases they are taken care by a single grandparent. Sad times in my opinion.

Available knowledge. Now people can choose what they wanna believe or not believe based on education, where before, this knowledge of history, eg., religious history, was not public. It's a problem for the big wigs in high places . . . eg., the 'robeians.'

Now, people have choices and sometimes way too many. At any rate, after/because of this intellectual revolution, I believe the world will be a much better place.

I would say Al-Qaida or the Taliban but we have always been faced with fascists or extremists throughout history.

The biggest problem I see facing our generation is the need to delude oneself with drugs or alcohol use which leads to what I call "dead" personalities.
Dead because they are the main cause behind violence and murders throughout the world and all this is "spreading."

Little known FACT is what killed off much of the native Indian populations off in South, and Central America, way before the Spaniards conquered these regions and killed many in the name of Spain and Catholism. COCAINE. If you know any of the Aztec, Mayan or Inca rituals, many of them involved this drug or other kinds and the need for SACRIFICE to please what Gods they worshiped.

2 Timothy 3
1. This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3. Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4. Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5. Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7. Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

I would have to say that people are to stuck on buying things. They all want the newest and best. I have always tried to live a simple way. But at the same time not let that control me. I see it especially in the younger people.

as with all preceding generations, at least from about thirty thousand or so years ago, the answer is religion. belief in a non existent deity has been the bane of man's existence since he invented it, and will be equally a boon when man rids himself of it. that day cannot come soon enough for me...
