For thoes who think that the Bible is an actual account for human history, I have two things to ask of you:
1.) I would like to see some true facts (and no not the actual historic references of the Bible...but some actual concrete facts, has nothing to do with the Bible either. Also, this has nothing to do with Evolution or anything Atheist, so don't say "Where's the proof for etc. etc." OR say, "God SAID" and blah blah blah...)
2.) If your only reason is for the Bible, isn't it then possible for me to write a book, throw in a God, add a martyr and have him be followed by a bunch of ragtag followers, and add some various historic references of the Ancient World, then pass it on to my kids as fact? Or even to the wider world maybe? I'm asking you this in simple curiousity, would it happen? Doubt you will but please, think about it.

Thank you and please, logical and kind answers from BOTH sides of the picket fence.

a lot of my friends are catholic but i am protestant. a few things that bug me about catholics include the following

they are contradictory: they believe in worshiping god and the ten commandments yet how do they justify the killing of innocent people during the crusades, robbing people of the money through indulgences and the inquisition. killing, stealing, and torture. those are all sins.

they believe if they screw up, get drunk, get high, do whatever the heck they please they can go to confession and go right back out and do it again.

they are closeminded. jesus wanted everyone to forgive the sinners and said "let all the little childern come to me" however, if you arent catholic they frown upon you. i attend a catholic school and because i am protestant i cant participate in the eucharist in mass and i am unable to give tours of the school to visitors.

I am going to be applying as a transfer student (a Shophmore) with a 2.0 GPA and I plan to immediatly pursue a PhD with only 2 years of school of experience. I will require housing and financial aid. I was thinking to apply to the R&S University but I think that I don't meet some of the most important admission requirements like getting 5 violations a day, the most I get are like 2.

Does it make you cringe when someone says God brought them happiness? Do you think it's a cop out? When is someone preaching and not just speaking of their beliefs?

Sorry for the sarcasm.

It is flooding down in Texas again, sing it Stevie Ray.

I am safe at home but I feel for those people getting off work in an hour or so. Think happy thoughts please for the drivers here in San Antonio and elsewhere in the floods today.

I hope everyone makes it home safe.

that YOU feel that someone practicing your faith should know and be adept in? What theology do you feel is most important for someone to learn? I’m looking for a priority list of what you think would be the foundation of your path. Things such as: a connection with your gods and/or nature, ethics, history, ritual, magic, mythology, trance, healing, divination, offerings, elemental forces, herbal and/or stone knowledge, learn a language, creation myths, beliefs about what happen to a soul after death, etc.

If tomorrow the world banned all religions do you think that are morals would change. Would we start thinking other things are right that are wrong today. If so what would happen to the laws. Would the world end as we know it? Could there be rules?

This means that there was a bit going on between Satan and God well before Creation. Satan many angels following his lead; as did God's angels follow God and we have no idea how many angels or other entities existed before God's acts of creation.

If you believe that it violates one, please state the specific law, then show specifically how it violates the law. If you wish to demonstrate more than one, state each law, followed by the specific violations to that law.

This is about biological evolution. Please confine the answers to the question and do not discuss cosmology or origin of life. Please answer directly, and if using cut & paste, be sure that the material follows the requested format.

There are many theories. Gradualism (slow evolution), Punctuated Equilibria (fast evolution), and Theistic Evolution (caused by God). If it is true, why are there so many theories?

As you know, the US Government and Private US Churches sent over 7 Million packages of relief supplies to muslim-controlled Indonesia after their Tsunami. And, while the citizens suffered, muslim Government Employees wasted time removing every "USA" label and replacing it with the Star and Crescent Moon symbol for islam.

Should we demand that the Government NOT spend our tax-dollars on Aid to Muslim Indonesia the next time they have a disaster? Should we tell our Churches NOT to send donations there next time?

OK.. so earlier I answered a question about Hope. I tried in my answer to stay away from mentioning faith... but I wonder

How much is faith connected to hope?

and it doesn't have to be faith in a god (christian or otherwise) just faith in general......

why is it if there is a god and the majority of the people on the planet believe in one in one form or another, the majority of those same people can't agree on who or what it is? chances are whatever god you believe in, the majority of the world does not believe in that god? does that not make it seem a little more likely that the god you believe in does not really exist?

It is too bad Adam and Eve had no experience of sin or much else when Eve listened to the serpent and both of them ate fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. The pair of them were both innocent and naive. The serpent was instramental in the original sin.

But where did the serpent come from. This Eden was paradice. Hardly a place for a trickster.
