As you know, the US Government and Private US Churches sent over 7 Million packages of relief supplies to muslim-controlled Indonesia after their Tsunami. And, while the citizens suffered, muslim Government Employees wasted time removing every "USA" label and replacing it with the Star and Crescent Moon symbol for islam.

Should we demand that the Government NOT spend our tax-dollars on Aid to Muslim Indonesia the next time they have a disaster? Should we tell our Churches NOT to send donations there next time?

Who cares about the rest of the world?

Look at what pariahs we are for always being the first to help. We are accused of everything under the sun and hardly ever praised for our good deeds the world over. Besides, we should reach out to our own starving and needy people rather than reaching out to ungreatful nations no matter what their theological beliefs are.

I have a hard time believing that. We will send aid if the Lord puts in n our heart.

The star & crescent moon isn't Islam is it?

What Islamic leaders want everyone to think is that the only people who help are Muslims. And the bad people are Israel & the US.

But as Christians D2T (above me) has the Christian mentality. We are helping people as unto the Lord & for the Lord. Not for others to see how good we are. It is the Lord who sees what we do & rewards us for serving Him.

First off, neither the US nor Indonesia have an official state religion. It's true that over half of those who live in the US consider themselves Christian, but it is unfair to exclude non-Christians from these generous donations. Also, those who donated made the donations to people in need without regard to their religious beliefs.

I am a Christian and was taught in church that our rewards are in the next life, not this one. We don't need the credit in the eyes of the victims. God knows our good works. I'm sorry they had to wait, but isn't not getting it at all worse?

Why don't you spend your effort on demanding that our government stop spending our tax-dollars to wage war?

Why? Because it hurt our little feelings to remove USA? Screw the people because the government is wasting time? No it is okay, if the people are assisted in the end, then it doesn't matter what picture is on it. We should put aside pride in arbitrary lines drawn and the symbols associated with them and realize we are helping other people, regardless of the steps other people choose to make.

Art, truthfully I have always had a problem with govenment foreign aid while our own citizens are hungry and homeless, but that is another issue.

While I can see why others are angered by this, and I was also momentarily, the bottom line is that we give and donate in order to help, not to draw attention to ourselves and our preceived goodness.

As a Christian we should be humble in giving of our resources wherever they are needed. Once we give them, it's the recipient's right to do with them what they want. If we felt our faith was being betrayed, maybe we should be over there giving out things in person. If we aren't willing to do that, we don't have control over what they do. It's like the guy in the street begging for money, sure he'll probably buy beer, but if I don't take the time to take him to dinner, or cook one for him, then I don't have the right to tell him how to spend the money I might give him.

As a Christian, I believe we should help. However, since this slight of hand is an act of propaganda by a clearly hostile government, I also believe we should make this information widely known. We need to shine a very bright light on this kind of behavior.

Of couse we should send relief wherever its needed, regardless of some silly allegations such as the one you stated. I've never heard this before, and it sounds more like anti-muslim propoganda than truth. In the bible, christians are told not to bear false witness against our neighbors, that's exactly what this sounds like.

Who cares as long as they get it?

Matthew 6
1"Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 3But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
