I could hear him in there giggling, so I stopped talking for a second so I could hear better and I could tell he was laughing. I would like to ask him about this and confront him. What do you think?

In an effort to be more respectful to Christians and believers, I'm doing my best to balance my sarcasm and cynicism with kind remarks. Unfortunately, I find a few people harshing that mellow.

"not sure where the comedy comes in? sounds like r&s, where most of the contributors are neither...

can't keep the non-believers out because it would be politically incorrect, so of course this is a forum for whatever."

Why is that necessary?

If anyone complains about my decision to post this question, I want to make it clear that it's important to point out the rude comments. It serves multiple purposes, but mostly, it calls out the people who make comments like this.

I encourage anyone to call out anything I've said that is hateful or rude. Mind you, don't ask me to stop being sarcastic and cynical. Those are personality traits. But hatefulness or rudeness is what kills the fun here.

I have a friend who lives on the west coast. She's had it pretty bad in a very racist town (whites of course) since she's moved there but she did get baptized several years ago. She has children and saw that many children in the congregation were behaving ungodly so she tried talking to the parents but the parents obviously didn't care; hence that's where the kids got their ungodly behavior from the parents. So she finally, after going to the elders and attempting to have a meeting with the ill-mannered witnesses, stopped the association between her kids and the bad seeds.

Now the bad kids and their parents call and harass her, say racial slurs, gossip and spread lies/false rumors about her and when she tried to talk to the elders about it, one yelled at her and told her not to ever call him again. Now, needless to say, she does not attend that lily-white congregation anymore and has asked the society in New York for help. Most witnesses are bringing badness to the organization.

Everyone always cares so much about what happens to us when we die... I guess being an atheist I don't care that much... I just think that's the end... However nobody ever really wonders what we were before we were born....

So my question is...

What were we before we were born? Nothing... non-existant... a tree... a different person....

What do you think we were??

I like the tree idea! ;)

as many as 1 in 1500 babies are born "intersex", that is no discernable gender. many times, doctors, sometimes with parent's permission, have just assigned a gender, in an attempt to give the child in question a "normal" life. surgery is done in many of these cases to complete the picture. many times the assignment is wrong. later in life, this decision is going to cause a person to be viewed as a homosexual, when in fact, they were given a wrong diagnosis.

my question is:

what would your religion say about something of this nature?

i mean, 1 in 1500 of our population, maybe more, have faced this. that's quite a few people affected.

how many have you judged?

We as Christians are the ones that got to be careful what we say because WE have the knowledge. Insulting a non-believer is just pushing them away. And when you push people away from God, YOU have the chance of losing approval from God!
We are to use love. We are not suppose to attack each other but try to reason with non-believers!
Non-believers are easier to be forgiven by God because they don't know, but WE as christians know what we are doing. And doing something that we know is wrong (like insulting others) is what makes it a sin!

ok i don't care if there is or is not a kind of god or what ever but would everyone be mad if scientology was the one true religion, to me it doesn't seem as out there as any other religion, but still to strange and out there for me.

so would you be mad that the most far-out religion is the right one.

i already know most people just KNOW it's not , so really just answer the question

Isn't that like welcoming back Abe Lincoln with pictures of John Wilkes Booth holding a revolver?

Christians are viewed as being ingnorant, now more than ever. However, why are christians considered ignorant when they have been taught all the same information atheists have been told regarding evolution. You cannot give me much new information regarding evolution because I have had it shoved down my throat since the day I was born. I, unlike some others, know a great deal regarding chirstianity, creation and have read the Bible. However, the vast majority of atheists have neither read, nor truly understand what is written in the Bilbe. So wouldn't that tend to make atheists more ignorant that christians, because most christians know a great deal about evolution while atheists scarcely know anything about christianity, and most have never even read the bible?

Add. questions: How can there be cave carvings/paintings of dinosaurs which supposedly never even existed during the time of man? How could they find manmade objects in veins of coal supposedly millions of years old?

"If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart. Behold, I will corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your solemn feasts; and one shall take you away with it." (Malachi 2:2-3)

Not writing this to start any controversy just thought it was funny. True story, I attended my son’s high school orientation tonight. They gave us a packet that had sign up sheets for some extra-curricular activities such as Spanish club, etc. One of the clubs listed was the "Christian Athletes Club". Nothing wrong with that but the description really caught my attention and I quote: "The Christian Athletes Club is a place for students to come and discuss athletics, academics and spiritual issues. (Members do not have to be athletes or Christians to attend)".

Why not call it the kids talking about stuff club if neither noun listed in the title applies?

Have a good evening and God Bless.
