If you wait until you die and see Jesus then. It will be to late to say I believe now. you have to accept Jesus while you are living! if you don't then when Jesus comes back or when you die! it will be to late to tell Jesus that you are sorry and I believe in you now since I now see you with my own eyes. Jesus wants you to have faith and believe in Him now while you are alive. so you can go to heaven. if you don't you will end up in hell. wake up and have faith in Jesus! praying for the lost!

Why are there people born with mental and physical disorders? Why should a woman need to bleed once a month to be able to have children? Why do we have body organs that have no use, or that we can function perfectally without (tonsils, appendix, etc)? The list goes on.

For a god who is supposedly all-powerful, couldn't he have done a better job at constructing the human body?

What is the very least you expect from people when you call?

How many people are willing to listen or talk to you?

How many people have you brought into your church with your calling?

How often do people become enraged and angry with you?

Most importantly to me, how would you recommend that I should word a note by my door to politely say that I am not interested? I already have a note beside my doorbell which reads "Attention Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormon Missionaries - Please Do Not Disturb". Is this too discourteous? Everytime I have quoted it here on this site, I've recieved numerous thumbs down for it. Would you recommend something different or no note at all? I know that any converstion with you regarding religion would turn very unpleasant and I simply want to avoid the distress for all of us.

There were 2 men shipwrecked on this island. The minute they got to the island, one of them started screaming and yelling. "we're going to die! We're going to die! There's no food! no water! We're going to die!"
The second man was propped up against a palm tree and acting so calmly it drove the first man crazy.
"don't you understand?! We're going to die!!!!" the first man said.
"you dont understand. I make $100,000 a week," said the second man.
The first man looked at him quite dumbfounded and asked, "what difference does it make? we're on an island with no food and no water! we're going to die!"
The second man answered," You just don't get it. I make $100,000 a week. I tithe. My pastor will find me!"

Jesus is coming back to Earth someday, right?

What do you think that day will be like as you think futuristically?

Think about angels in the sky, the brightness of His coming, the death raised to live from cemeteries all over the world, etc.

Your reply?

Dinah went to see the girls in the neighborhood. She was raped and kidnapped. Her brothers went over their fathers head and killed the men of the town. Jacob blames her brothers, the brothers blame the rapist, and they take all the women (yes, the women who Dinah went to see) with them when they leave. But, God never blames Dinah. JWs blame Dinah for the death and all the badness of the situation. I thought we had stopped blaming the victim...like God did.

those gospel churches look like they really bring life into people instead of taking it away. and they're so energetic and passionate. why cant the catholic church be this way? its so boring and lacks life? seriously, would it hurt the catholic church to be more like those gospel churches where they actually bring life into you instead of taking it away?

Personally, I’d be an 8.5 or 9 because I’m just a little bit superstitious. I don’t like seeing the moon rise red and my new years eves always suck for some reason. Neither science nor logic can explain this so I remain incomplete in my atheism. But I vehemently reject the possibility of an afterlife and the bible to me is a load of primitive, meaningless, nonsense stories.

I am trying to understand Catholicism, and I ask these questions with the uptmost respect.

1. Why do you have to confess your sins to a priest? What are the "spiritual ramifications" if one does not go to confession? Does it always have to be to a priest or can you confess your sins directly to God in prayer?

2. I know the Catholic Bible is different due to the Apocrypha. Why the difference?

3. Why a Pope?

4. Speaking of Popes,.. the current Pope recently released a statement addressing the Catholic church as "the one true church". I understand this to be due to the claim of being able to trace their roots to the days of the apostles, but are persons of other Christian faiths (I am a Lutheran, for example, but Baptists, Methodists.. you get the point)... not really Christians then? What "happens" to them, from a Catholic viewpoint?

5. Can someone please explain purgatory for me? How was it discovered to exist?

I'm an agnostic raised in a nonreligious home and I just wanted to read the bible to get a point of view. Also it's supposed to be a great piece of lit. Also it's apparently the atheist's greatest piece of evidence. There's so much discussion on it and I've never read it. I searched for bibles but there's so many different versions... Which version is most standard?

Catholic churches in the Netherlands should use the name Allah for God to ease tensions between Muslims and Christians, says a Dutch bishop. Tiny Muskens, the bishop of Breda, told the Dutch TV program "Network" Monday night he believes God doesn't mind what he is called, Radio Netherlands Worldwide reported.

Smoking issue for example. Those against smoking will say anything, no matter, how absurd, about smoking. And act as though it is the truth, even if there little or no evidence. And surely those that live to be 90 and smoke all of their lives are "just lucky." I have smoked for 45 years and I am healthy and in better shape then most guys my age, so I am "just lucky."

Isn't most of life like that? Our lifestyle dictates what is true and what is not?

You know, in times of war and the panic following a natural disaster, most people are more receptive to what they assume is the word of God and the preachers can speak in soft words in a soft voice and have complete control. But when people are relaxed and have a few minutes to think about what they are being told, the word of God sounds like the nonsensical ramblings of a madman. So the preacher’s solution is to turn up the scare factor and throw in a few keywords with dark connotations like hellfire, Armageddon, rapture, Satan, evil, sin etc.
