Alot of people really don't believe in God and this brings up the question stated above, Do we just life for a few years and then die and thats it? Their has to be more to life than just having fun and then dying, This purpose is what God has given us. Its pretty hard believing that we live for a little and then die and thats it, what about the children who die early, they didn't have a chance to have fun or experience earthly life, Their has to be more, The children will rise on that day of ressurection when our lord Jesus comes back

First of all, Christians compare murderers, thiefs, liars and etc., to homosexuality! Can't Christians see the difference? You must actually murder, steal, or tell a lie to become one of those. But you do not need to have sex in order to be homosexual. Even if you remain a virgin for your entire life, you still are a gay if you're attracted to the same sex. A monk could stay a virgin for his entire life, but he's still a heterosexual. And as a side note does homosexuality harm someone else like murdering, stealing and lying do? Is there a reward to being gay like their is a reward to steal something?

Secondly (which proves you're uneducated), you Christians say that, "if homosexuality is in the genes, why is not extinct yet since men can't have childrent". It's not necessary for your parents to be gay for you to be born gay, duh! Is it necessary that disabled children must also have disabled parents? Not everything you're born with resembles your parents, get a clue!

Many of you have stated that you were previously Christian or of some other religion but then you realized that the religion made no sense. So, you became atheist based off a decision you made on your own, correct? So why then when someone asks a question about a specific religion, you attack the questioner with answers like "god does not exits" or my personal favorite "religion is a lie". Why not leave the question for those that will give the asker a genuine answer they were looking for and leave it up to them to find their own way and make their own determination about whether to believe it or not....just as you did?

READ BEFORE ANSWERING PLEASE;

ok If I told you I was raised in a home that never went to church never read the bible, in fact my family was as far away from God church bible as you could get.
one night when I was younger I had this unsaul dream, very real it was so real that many many years later I still rember it.
I dreamt I was looking into the heavens and I could see the stars and in the very midst of the dark sky was a brillent light that looked like it was energetic oblong shaped, it amazed me, I seen smaller little lights flying around it coming out of it and dancing all around it....I don't know how but when I seen it I knew it was God..or what he appeared like to me.....

I told my mom & dad they stared at me like I was nuts..lol
I began to search the bible..4 or 5 years later I became a christian, now my whole family are also christains....true story do you believe me?

Why do some take the whole Pagan beleif and make the "magick" their "inner-self"? I'm confused. Witches of all Pagan religions beleive in deities. Not an "inner-self". So doesn't that make "new agers" non-Pagans?

What's your opinion?

An atheist was taking a walk through the woods. "What majestic trees! What powerful rivers! What beautiful animals!" he said to himself. As he was walking alongside the river he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him. He turned to look and saw a 7 foot grizzly bear charge towards him. He ran as fast as he could up the path. He looked over his shoulder &
saw that the bear was closing in on him. He tripped and fell on the ground. He rolled over to pick himself up but saw the bear right on top of him, reaching for him with his left paw & raising his right paw to strike him. At that instant the Atheist cried out to the Lord. Time stopped, the bear froze, the forest was silent.
A bright light shone upon the man, a voice came out of the sky, "You deny myexistence for all of these years, teach others I don't exist, and even credit creation to a cosmic accident. Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament? Am I to count you as a believer?"

That god didn't create the universe. Let's also say that we can't explain how the universe was created through science, and let us also say that the Flying Spaghetti Monster didn't create it either...
What does that leave us with? Maybe it was something else? Maybe we are thinking too hard about all this, or not hard enough about creation. How about some new thoughts? You people are creative. Lets see what you've got.

I want to preface this question. This is not a judgement, just a question from an ex catholic. I grew up in the 70's after Vatican II passed. I did eventually leave the church in my teens. My question is, why almost universally are there so many who identify with Catholicism, yet do not embrace their dogma? I have good friends and even my husband are Catholics who havent stepped foot in mass in 15-20 years and disagree with just about everything they teach, yet they are calling themselves Catholic, they want to baptize their babies, and put holy water on dying relatives. I know only one person who is a Catholic who attends and embraces it all out of soo many. It makes me feel that the catholic church is one of the most legalistic, yet the most liberal; which seems like a contradiction to me. Can any Catholics weigh in? Thanks in advance!

So I was listening to Catholic Answers today (Im Christian) it is a Holy Obligation Day for Mary. The man said that Mary was born without sin, just like Jesus. I was raised Catholic and never knew this. I dont believe for a minute its biblical, rather dogmatic, however I had to call my mom who is a dyed in the wool catholic and she told me other Christian denominations believe this very thing too. Any Born agains know about this? Agree or disagree?

Why do people swear on the Bible? Isn't that the stupidest thing you've ever heard...I mean I know someone who swore on the Bible they were not cheating on their wife (which they were) but anyway, does the Bible not say that swearing is a sin...don't swear to God...yet people do it all the time and act like it's proving something...HELLO.....

Wouldn't you rather not exist than be sent to hell?

So, if this god is truly loving and merciful, couldn't he just make people 'not exist' (annihilate) instead of torturing them for eternity, which is the most unfair unjust punishment conceivable?
