...in order to recover your property.

So, as a teenager there was a dude in my neighborhood with a penchant for steeling property. My friend believed his bike was in this guy's trunk. He wanted to bust in and take it, but not in front of the guy's house.

Since I was the only one with the skill set to move this car (83 Cutlass or something) from the vicinity, I was enlisted to help.

So, we drove the car down the street, busted the trunk open, and removed the stolen property.

I then left the car across from the local police precinct, opened all the doors, the trunk, and the hood, and left on the hazard lights.

Police found the car. Apparently, the guy had a bag of coke in his glove and when the police found the registration, they went knocking on his door. The charges didn't stick because the vehicle was "stolen" and anyone could have planted the drugs in the glove box.

So, in light of the facts, did I commit a sin?

I go based on exactly what the Bible tells us. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life and no man comes to the Father except through Him. We need to follow what the word of God tells us. Some would say that it is "over spiritual"...but wouldn't you be over spritual and go to heaven than not enough and go to hell? It's by God's grace and through His blood that we are saved.

What if a bunch of my friends studied it as well and came to the same (or similar enough) conclusions, would that mean we were right?

What if another, smaller group of guys studied the same thing, but came to much different conclusions... would my group be right, especially if we outnumbered them by a large amount, simply because there's more of us than them?

What if the norm was people dancing to the music (actually excited that they were going to live forever) and every Sunday there were many people healed of cancer, blindness, all kinds of sickness and diseases. There is no alcohol to be found but by the way people are acting you would think they had tapped a couple of kegs. Would you attend a Church that had all this going on?

First of all, let me say that I am non-denominational and I can respect everybody's opinion. I just get a little confused when I read posts on here where people say there isn't a God. There isn't a heaven. There isn't a hell. Me personally, I know that God is real. In 1995, I was hit by a semi-truck on the freeway and it totalled my car. I was on a bridge when this happened and I can clearly remember the car almost being tossed over the bridge, but the guardrail was there. I remember seeing my entire life flash before my eyes. I could see imagines of me, my parents, my brother and other family members. There were no words, but just images of things that had happen in my life up until that point. When all of the action finally slowed down, I saw that both airbags had came out and the car was demolished. I walked out of the car with no broken bones and no cuts and bruises. I was a little shooken up and I had some fine glass particles on me, but that's it. But God isn't real?

E'-li, E'-li, la'-ma sa-bach'-tha-ni?
(from Matthew 27: v46)

I know that the Crucifiction of Jesus is seen as a sacrifice for the forgivness of sins.
However, the words in the question above, were one of the last things that Jesus said.

They MUST have huge significance.

My own view is that they are an expession of an Existential state of Isolation and that Jesus needed to become fully human and experience Seperation and Limitation.

Only then could a Reconcilliation between Spirit and Man occur. An Integration of BOTH perspectives.

What do you think of my interpretation?

Can you let me know other interpretations?

If this pastor is rallying for gay themed books to be pulled from the shelves of a local library....should we also pull religious themed books from these shelves?
- A tax funded library should not support or endorse any religions by stocking certain books
-Or can't we all just get along, and allow books from all interests to be stocked.

-Interesting point to the article...before the pastor publicized his gimmick to remove the gay themed books, no one had checked the books out....now there is a waiting list. Ignorant fundie.

-Last thought, why would an inner city Baptist Church, in the heart of the gay community, call an anti-gay pastor...shouldn't a church be reaching out to serve the community it is in? Don't think having a homophobe at this church is going to invite gay people in the door.

Your thoughts? Gay books/religious books being offered at a library....and gay neighborhood church calls antigay pastor

Jesus´s action in allowing himself to be crucified when he could prevent it (after all he was God or so some people say, so he could do anything ) was surely suicide in some form. Preachers always tell us to be like Jesus. So should we commit suicide too?

If I walked through some dodgy area at dead of night and was accosted by some guy with a knife or gun who threatened to kill me, and I could escape but chose not to, wouldn´t that be suicide?
