Malachi 4:2
2But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. (KJV)

So what does healing in his wings mean?

Don't see the word Messiah there. If you want to say that cloud looks like your favorite sheep, go ahead. Fine with me.

aside from this actually being Malachi 3:20....

heres a jewish translation of Malachi 3:19-24...

For, behold that day is coming ; it burns like a furnace ; and all the arrogant, and all who do wickedly, shall be stubble ; and the day that is coming shall burn them up, says the Lord of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.
But to you who fear my name the sun of righteousness shall arise with healing in its wings ; and you shall go out and leap like calves from the stall.
And you shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day that I do this, says the Lord of hosts.
Remember the Tora of Moshe my servant, which I commanded him in Horev for all Yisra'el, both statutes and Judgements.
Behold I will send you Eliyya, the prophet, before th ecoming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord :
and he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the land with a curse."

as said, this clearly does not refer to jesus whatsoever.

its always amusing how people make such a big deal about jesus allegedly fulfilling so many prophecys, when pretty much all of them that he fulfilled, were not actually messianic prophecy at all, and that he didn't fulfill really any of the real prophecys.

You are aware that all of the gospels which are your "proof" are at best secondhand (and at worst fourth or fifth hand) accounts of Jesus's life (if he existed which is doubtful). He didn't fulfill all the Messianic prophecies, he was descended from David but not through Solomon (which is central to being the Messiah), he didn't rebuild the temple with all the First Temple miracles, he didn't cause an end to all war, he didn't resurrect all the dead. It is well known that the verse where he imistranslationgin--Isaiah 7:14 is a mistransalation, the original hebrew mean "younlegalan" not "virgin" (as the age of legal marriage for girls was 12, many young woman had children). The divinity was down mainly to one person who never met him - Paul of Tarsus.

Thats a tough one. Understanding of the culture at the time helps. Again the ancients didn't have words specific enough to describe what they saw or knew. Anything that arose (as in the sky or heavens) had to arise with wings as birds were the only things that could fly at the time and they had only one differance then none flying things that being wings. So I think wings was interpretation to explain how they arose. In this case I say whoever they are speaking of did not have wings. Which makes the power of God even more awesome when you think of him or whoever flying without wings.

Then the wings of the sun are the rays or sunbeams it sends out. They bring healing, joy, and wholeness. When the Sun of Righteousness shines, we need no other light or warmth. Imagine trying to light a candle on a sunny day to help out the sun! That makes as much sense as trying to “improve” the work of Jesus for us with our own righteousness.

king James is not nesserily the best translation but Jesus does talk about wanting to protect us all under his wings. I am sure it was a hebrew metaphore for some thing else.
Malachi 4
Judgment and Covenant Renewal
1]"Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace. All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and that day that is coming will set them on fire," says the LORD Almighty. "Not a root or a branch will be left to them. 2 But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves. 3 Then you will trample on the wicked; they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I act," says the LORD Almighty.

4 "Remember the law of my servant Moses, the decrees and laws I gave him at Horeb for all Israel.

Sybolism..There won't be any need for a sun as Jesus and the heavenly city will provide all light necessary.
However as the sun rises and flies through the sky giving it's warmth to all.
Jesus will be in charge and will watch over all. Healing and protecting.
I hope that helps.

While this verse does speak of messianic time, it does not speak of Jesus. There are no OT prophesies that speak of Jesus. None whatsoever.

This verse simply means that when these events come to pass, those who are righteous in God's eyes, who are few and have been beaten down, will, in the clear light of day, find renewed strength to do God will as expressed in the following verses. And that is to destroy the wicked and to remember the covenant God made thru Moses with all its laws and statutes....not like christianity which has dispensed with the law.

Some verses in the OT are merely literary devices used by the author to emphasize/reenforce the message he is trying to convey. Concentrate on the main message and don't get distracted by the trimmings.

The judgements on the wicked, and the happiness of the righteous.

Here is a reference to the first and to the second coming of Christ: God has fixed the day of both. Those who do wickedly, who do not fear God's anger, shall feel it. It is certainly to be applied to the day of judgment, when Christ shall be revealed in flaming fire; to execute judgment on the proud, and all that do wickedly. In both, Christ is a rejoicing Light to those who serve him faithfully. By the Sun of Righteousness we understand Jesus Christ. Through him believers are justified and sanctified, and so are brought to see light. His influences render the sinner holy, joyful, and fruitful. It is applicable to the graces and comforts of the Holy Spirit, brought into the souls of men. Christ gave the Spirit to those who are his, to shine in their hearts, and to be a Comforter to them, a Sun and a Shield. That day which to the wicked will burn as an oven, will to the righteous be bright as the morning; it is what they wait for, more than those that wait for the morning. Christ came as the Sun, to bring, not only light to a dark world, but HEALTH TO A DISTEMPERED WORLD. Souls shall increase in knowledge and spiritual strength. Their growth is as that of calves of the stall, not as the flower of the field, which is slender and weak, and soon withers. The saints' triumphs are all owing to God's victories; it is not they that do this, but God who does it for them. Behold another day is coming, far more dreadful to all that work wickedness than any which is gone before. How great then the happiness of the believer, when he goes from the darkness and misery of this world, to rejoice in the Lord for evermore! (Mal 4:4-6)

Dear Heavenly Father, I confess that I have sinned against heaven and in your sight and need forgiveness. Thank you for sending your Son Jesus to die on the cross for my sins, according to the Scriptures, and I thank you for raising Him from the dead. Today I ask Him to come into my heart to cleanse me from my sin and become my Lord and Savior. I give myself to you. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!

The only one with wings up there in human format is A man that held the flag for Islam and they chopped both his hands off and arms and then murdered him in battle. Muhammed SAW said that man will have 2 fashioned wings, he will be the only one allowed with them such as we know, for he will be the flag of the truthful!
Salam
