I would destroy them and scatter them to the ends of the earth for 2000 years......which is exactly what God did.

Christ knew He would be killed, or really that He would give His life for us. That was always part of the plan. God knew it would happen, but He still sent Christ for us. Christ accepted what He had to do before He was ever born. There were many times that Christ could have stopped it, but He didn't. He knew this was the only way to save all of us.
God knew that too, and if I were God, I have mourned the fact that people would do it, and I would have done the same thing that God did, which was nothing. He had to let it happen. Remember, God knows what His plan is, and can see farther then we can. To Him, it's all part of the bigger picture.

If I were God, it would have been planned before it ever got started. And that's what happened!

I'd be pissed off.
But the real God is great. The real God is good.
