A true Christian is a person who has put his or her faith and trust in the person of Jesus Christ and fact that He died on the cross as payment for sins and rose again on the third day to obtain victory over death and to give eternal life to all who believe in Him. John 1:12 tells us: “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” A true Christian is indeed a child of God, a part of God’s true family, and one who has been given new life in Christ. The mark of a true Christian is love for others and obedience to God’s Word (1 John 2:4; 1 John 2:10).

Be careful what you add to simple faith in Jesus Christ.
We can't tell who is a Christian and who is not except by guessing based on what we see from the outside. Only God sees the heart, and only God knows who are his.

Jesus said it:
John 3
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.
Any person who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ is saved. If what he said is true, then that is a Christian.

One who believes in God, and strives to do the right thing....one who does not judge others....
I think this is where most people wanting to be Christian fail...they fill up so much of their time and thoughts with other people's and other's perceived sins...that they do not focus on their own life, and being better people/Christians.

first believing in Jesus is a start but not the whole truth. the Bible says many other things as well. like unless we are born of water and Spirit we canont enter the Kingdom of God. i believe we must be baptized. i believe we must be filled with the Holy Spirit. and i believe we must follow Gods command. christian means christ like. i believe we are to live for God and not for ouselves. we need certain things yes but so many things we also dont need. we are to put away worldly things. there is a verse that says not everyone who says Lord Lord will enter. to me just saying you believe is nothing. we have to show that we believe. kinda like by our works. the Bible does not say anyweres that we are not saved by our works. it says we are not saved by our works alone. there is a verse that says we are saved by grace thru faith. however faith without works is dead. now what are works for me works are going to church when we can, praying daily, reading our Bible daily, witnessing, inviting people to church, etc. helping those who need help. tithes, offerings, and many more.
i also believe just cause you believe does not make you saved. for i posted down below were it says satan believes and trembles. as well as not everyone who says Lord Lord shall enter but those who do the fathers will
Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
we all can say we believe and many might. but i feel we still need to repent from our sins as well. saying that all you need to do is believe in Jesus and you are saved is saying you can still live how you want to. we have to repent and turn away from our sins. not saying we will never sin again but what makes a christian different is we are sorry when we do sin and we try all we can to stop. if you drink and get drunk you will try to do what you can to stop drinking if you think it is wrong. also we need to ask God to help us as well.
for person up who said by grace and not works. put 2 and 2 together.
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
this says by grace through faith, and as i posted below faith is dead without works. hmm so we are saved by our works. also noted it also says below what does it profit us to have faith without works. if a brother comes to you naked and you send him away what does that profit him. works would be to give him clothes or let him in your home and feed him.
no i am not mormon. i am an apostolic pentecostal.
