A guy dies, and goes to Heaven. When the guy arrives in Heaven, St. Peter greets him, and says, "Come with me, and I will show you where you will be staying." St. Peter and this guy are walking along side of the golden fence of Heaven, and the guy notices many clocks on the fence. Out of curiosity, the guy asks St. Peter, "What are all these clocks for?" St. Peter smiles, "They are clocks for every person in the world," he says, "And they tick once for each time you lie. There is Mother Theresa's clock! Her clock has never ticked once. There is Abraham Lincoln's clock! His clock has only ticked twice." Again, out of curiosity, the guy asks, "Where is Bill Clinton's clock?" St. Peter calmly says, "His clock is in Jesus' office. He is using it as a fan."

1)For you to respect someone, you first gotta have knowledge of the respected one.
2)All we're provided with to acquire knowledge of the world that surrounds us, is our senses.
3)God is imperceptible to the senses we're provided with.
4)Therefore, God can't be respected.

I understand that you have the right to be here, but why exactly do you want to If you are anti- religious & anti-spiritual? It's kind of like being in the parenting section when you don't have kids.

For YE Creationists only please ...

At some point, YE Creationism leads to the conclusion that all scientists who accept evolution (which is pretty much all of them) are either:

A - Universally stupid; (so stupid they have overlooked evidence or arguments so obvious that anyone with high-school level biology on an Internet forum can stump them with "why are there still monkeys?" questions);
or
B - Universally corrupt. (so corrupt they are willing to betray their profession, and participate in an unprecedented conspiracy involving tens of thousands of scientists for generations ... over 150 years).

And note that we're not just talking about biologists, paleontologists, geneticists, and others involved in evolution ... but *all* sciences ... geologists, physicists, chemists, astronomers, astrophysicists, etc. etc. who accept (e.g.) an old age for the earth and universe.

In either case ... WHY? Why do you have such a *dismal* opinion of science and scientists?

my father influenced me against God because he left....I always thought if God was supposed to be "like a father" that I really wasn't so sure I wanted that. But God knew me and loved me anyway until I could not do without Him.

How many of you object to the present policy of abortion-on -demand has a Federal "right" on legal, scientific, ethical, or other grounds? If you love the current policy and think it was based on "science", please explain how "quickening" equates to science.

Maybe I'm missing something, but is this really a biblical concept? It almost sounds like the typical pop psychology about "letting it go," dressed in Christian jargon.

In my last question, I asked why God keeps the date of Jesus' return secret. Many answers stated that people would pretend to believe at the last minute if they knew the time of his return.

Okay, my friend had always been religous, but she recently came from a trip with her church group, or something and she told us that she might make a change. She told us that she might begin hanging out with only christian people, listen to only christian music, and many, many other stuff to that effect in which everything in her life is LITERALLY based on Christianity. She said something about the world ending and that she doesn't want to go to hell. The majority of her exsisting friends are either not very commited christians, not christians at all, or live far away. I don't know what to tell her. We tell her that christianity is not the only religon out there and she says, "Well, it's the only 'right' one." I am not christian, and I have nothing against God, but I might be losing my best friend. I know it's not my decision to make and we are supporitive of whatever she chooses to do, but we are worried she might be a little to extreme.

What should I do?
