Why do you spend so much time in the religion section of answers?
Not being a smart *** - just wondering.

So, a recent answer I saw said "Sweety, Christians can't be gay. It's specifically said so in the Bible. "

Where does it say you can't be gay and believe in God?

I mean...it does it say if you steal, lie, cheat, rob, beat, murder, etc....that you can't be Christian?

Of course it doesn't! It just says it's wrong...and also that person said that "sodomy is a sin and that's what gay men do" you're right, they do that...but not all of them...and you said sin...sins can be forgiven, just like your blasphemy of the bible, lying about what it says....I guess you CAN'T be a Christian now...

Does that sound ridiculous or not?

Is lying a sin if someone says "how many cookies did you eat?" and you say "1" when you really ate 2, would you go to hell for lying about that?

Terrorists must not be allowed to spread the false information that Jihad means "Holy War".

Feeding the poor is a Jihad

Helping the orphan is a Jihad

Speaking out against injustice is a Jihad

The mother carrying a child is a Jihad

Helping the oppressed is a Jihad

Going on the Pilgrimage is a Jihad

Self defense is a Jihad

Supporting and helping ones parents is a Jihad

“Prayer (Salaat) is the BEST Jihad” ?

Jihad in Arabic means “The struggle to do good.”

Does anyone one on here have psychic abilities? When I was little, I was very odd, quiet, scared; was afraid of men. If my mom would leave me in the car to get gas I would shake and cry. I used to have very bad thoughts when I was little (age five even) about sexual things. Not sex but other things. This really isn't the place to get into full detail about it, but I just really need some help. I feel like something happened to me when i was very very young and I want to know what. I have depression and am in counseling and stuff, but I just need someone to be able to tell me what happened to me when I was very little.

I'm not being arrogant..but I'm wondering, well my grandpa was a really great, kind loving man, and he died of a brain tumor, and well I was wondering, if there is a god, then how come he took my grandpa in such a cruel way?

When god does take people, how come he sometimes takes them cruelly (if they were good people)? thank you for answering.

I know they keep coming up with explanations whenever a discovery is made which appears to contradict evolution, but sooner or later it will fail and be seen as another theory which could not withstand the test of time.
What will you believe about your origins?
No more sludge or monkeys in the family tree.

Atheists say the main purpose of religion is to instill fear in everyone in an effort for us to act civilized as a people. Assuming they are correct, what would the world be like without fear. If people could do whatever they wanted without any types of rules, laws or consequences what do you think the world would be like?

In a typical human , the following similarities may be quickly discerned:

The corresponding fingers of each hand (on the OPPOSITE side of the body) are roughly identical in length and shape; the same relationship exists concerning the size and shape of the hands, arms, shoulders, ribs, legs, knees, ankles, feet, toes, eyes, ears, and nostrils.

Additionally, the eyes and ears are located in the same relative positions on both sides of the face. Also, the corresponding teeth in the upper and lower jaw are roughly identical in structure.

What accounts for this symmetry?

God? Coincidence?
