So, a recent answer I saw said "Sweety, Christians can't be gay. It's specifically said so in the Bible. "
Where does it say you can't be gay and believe in God?
I mean...it does it say if you steal, lie, cheat, rob, beat, murder, etc....that you can't be Christian?
Of course it doesn't! It just says it's wrong...and also that person said that "sodomy is a sin and that's what gay men do" you're right, they do that...but not all of them...and you said sin...sins can be forgiven, just like your blasphemy of the bible, lying about what it says....I guess you CAN'T be a Christian now...
Does that sound ridiculous or not?

"You cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven if you are homosexual."
Yeah..they can...because Jesus will forgive them...because if they're gay and they think it's wrong and want to change(but can't) Jesus will know what was in their hearts.
Being gay wasn't a choice for them, it has something to do with the x chromosone or whatever...
And by the way some people CAN'T change from their life of sin...it's called "a repear offender" many people steal, murder, etc many times...
Oh and what about a habitual liar?

I agree with you, it's so ridiculous. I'm a Christian woman and I just don't get how other Christians can sit there and judge others the way they do. It says he who is w/o sin (btw none of us are) may cast the first stone..... Only God has the right to judge, not us, period. We're supposed to love thy neighbor and spread Gods word, not spread hate. STOP THE HATE!

I agree. But just as an alcoholic, thief, liar, etc. would make an honest attempt at giving up those sins upon salvation, so a gay person who has repented can be saved. Lots of people who believe in God aren't saved. They are only saved after they receive His son, Jesus Christ, as Lord and Savior. The temptation may never completely go away, but a person who is openly living a gay lifestyle is not likely saved.
Also, sometimes God will take a Christian home early if he backslides too far. I personally know two good Christians who are gay (non-practicing).
P.S. You are right about habitual sinners. When a person is a "new creature in Christ" , his desire is to follow the Lord but often he is too weak. God knows his heart. Thank you for making me think about this more.

Nowhere in the Bible does it say that anyone cannot become a Christian. It states that ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God, but that salvation is available to all. By grace are we saved, meaning that salvation is not deserved. We receive it through grace.
We could delve further into this and discuss the fact that the Bible never condemns homosexuality, but that would be another, far too indepth, discussion. People simply misinterpret passages and do not do the research behind them.
Read the Bible, pray, listen to God. He will tell you what is right and wrong, and He will never deny you salvation.

Gay people can be christians just as much as thieves, adulterers, and people who eat too many donuts. The better question is what disqualifies someone to live with God? If nothing but belief, then what is the purpose of it? Is having sex with the same sex wrong? The bible clearly states, multiply and replenish the earth as the underlying principal as to why we are created man and woman with the desire to have sex. Not disputing that it may be an innate feeling. Though think about our justice system. If someone can explain why they want to kill, steal, rob, or rape does that get them off the hook? We are only held guiltless if we can explain why we lack the inhibition to not do those things.

There has been Confusion in the Terms:
Kingdom of GOD--- Kingdom of Heaven
When you get Born-Again (spirit Recreated) you are Translated into the Kingdom of GOD and you are then a Child of GOD.
After you become a Child of GOD
(and ANYBODY--- liars, drunkerds, dopers, fornicators, murderers, gay people so on, can Very Easly get Saved in this Time Period--
Just Ask Jesus to Save (Recreate) you (a spirit, living in a Body), no Kidding around either!)
Then hopefully, As a Child of GOD you will Learn how to Enter into the Kindom of Heaven, while you are Still on the Earth!
It is called Walking in Holiness and NO, you Never Have to Walk in Holiness to make it Home to Heaven AFTER you have been Born-Again.
Walking in Holiness IS NOT REQUIRED to go to Heaven, Getting Saved IS.
Now, after you are Translated into the Kingdom of GOD (Saved) if you Still Persist to Sin and Resist GOD trying to help you, you will Reap alot of Hell (not go there!! just get Attacked by the devils ALOT) and you Probably won't live long on the Earth---but YOU WILL MAKE IT TO HEAVEN.

Yes Christians can be gay. They can also steal, lie and murder. They just repent and if they have to they repent a zillion times.
It not being gay that is the sin--it is the sexual act. All gay people have to do if they want to serve Jesus is be chaste. Paul says that it is not for all to marry.
It is a misconception in today's world that sex is a right. Sex is a gift from God. it is meant to be done between a man and a woman who are married to each other. Everything else is a sin.
***Update: A sin is a sin. Overeating, overdrinking, being "holier than anyone else" If you have no sin, cast the first stone.

I have no idea why a gay person would WANT to be Christian or Jewish considering what the bible says about them. Just shows how powerful indoctrination can be. It's like a Jew wanting to be a Nazi. You can't pick and choose the parts of the bible that you like. Just throw the whole darned thing out.

You made a good point. Who would God prefer? A gay man in a consensual relationship, or a pedophile priest? I'm not a Christian any more, but I thought one of the points of Christ's message was that we should leave the judging up to God.

Proclamations of the bible in any regard concerning the "true" word of god is one thing I will never pay attention to, and never understand why others give it serious thought.
The bible has been read, translated, interpreted so many times over the last thousand years that it has lost all of its meaning to me, and is just like any other fictional book today.
I'd even willingly read one of those potter books before reading the bible.

See now this is why I don't like religion. That doesn't mean I couldn't believe in God or wouldn't have faith.. it simply means I can never accept religion because it's just too exclusive a club for my liking.
Being "gay" is simply the self recognition of one's own preference for the same sex... is it illogical that people who are intelligent enough to recognise their own emotions shouldn't be excluded from the club? .. but .. there you are. You said it. Ridiculous.
