Just like Christianity, yes it is. Every religion has negative and positive elements. Its the people who give religion a bad name. If you don't believe me, look at Christian history.
Learn to read about other religion first. Little knowledge will only make you a George Bush.

As a Christian, I believe that if a Muslim truly lived by what the Koran says, it would be a peaceful religion. However, there are so many Muslims that are kept uneducated on purpose so the Imams can teach their hate & they don't know how the peaceful Islam is being hijacked by the extremists.

Wouldn't that really depend on who is the believer? Like any mainstream religion that propagates love, peace and happiness, Islam is just another set of beliefs, which if fallen into the wrong hands, can create animosity and turmoil.

Every religion is a religion of peace during peace-time. And every religion is a religion of war during war-time.
Christians have supported war efforts in various countries throughout their history. That's what the Crusades were all about.

Religions are books and accepted patterns of belief. What the people do with it depends on a million other factors, such as education among other things. There is nothing much more or less peaceful about Islam vs. other religions. 99.999% of all Muslims live their lives as peacefully as they can. But that, in my opinion, speaks more about those people as individuals than it does about the religion to which they adhere.

No religion is a religion of peace. Judaism, Christianity and Islam were all spread and maintained by the sword and the fire. All of them are based on open rabid terrorism.

While the Christian prophet Jesus sacrificed himself for his believers, the Muslim prophet Mohammed frequently ordered his followers to sacrifice themselves for his own glory.
Islam is both a religion and a political movement with the goal of world domination.
Islam has a very violent history and the terror now being perpetrated on the West is simply another campaign for world conquest.
The Quran orders Muslims to either enslave or kill those who refuse to worship Allah. The Muslim holy book does not teach love, but hate. Faithful Muslims are directed to kill the 'infidels.'
The following are a few of the violent passages found within the Quran:
"Believers, make war on the infidels who dwell around you." (Sura 9:122)
"make war on the leaders of unbelief..." (Sura 9:12)
"Allah has given those that fight with their goods and their persons a higher rank than those who stay at home. He has promised all a good reward; but for richer is the recompense of those who fight for Him." (Sura 4:96)
"Believers, retaliation is decreed for you in bloodshed." (Sura 2:178)
A merchant, Mohammed became a military leader and led several campaigns against 'non-believers.' He could also be easily classified as a common thief, as he frequently raided caravans headed for Mecca.
In 624, Mohammed led a few hundred Muslim warriors in a raid on a merchant caravan. It resulted in a battle between the Meccans and the Muslims at Badr. The Muslims prevailed and took 70 prisoners who were held for ransom.
In 627, the Meccans again were defeated by the Muslims in what is known as the Battle of the Trench. Afterwards, the Muslims accused a local Jewish tribe (Banu Qurayza) of conspiring with the Meccans and subsequently attacked the Jews. Under Mohamed's direction, the defeated Jews were given mock trials and executed by their Muslim captors.
In 630, Mohammed led a force of 10,000 to seize Mecca.
By the time of his death in 632, Mohammed was regarded as a ruthless military leader and a skillful politician. Less than a century after his death, his followers had conquered Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Armenia, Syria, and most of North Africa. During the 10th century, Muslim armies conquered part of India (in what is now Pakistan).
Muhammad and his successors initiated offensive wars against peaceful countries in order to impose Islam by force as well as to seize the abundance of these lands. Their objective was to capture women and children and to put an end to the poverty and hunger from which Arab Muslims suffered. So, Islam was imposed upon Syria, Jordan, Palestine (Jerusalem), Egypt, Libya, Iraq, Iran, all of North Africa, some parts of India and China.
Europe was invaded and occupied as follows: Spain 800 years, Portugal 600 years, Greece 500 years, Sicily 300 years, Serbia 400 years, Bulgaria 500 years, Rumania 400 years, Hungary 150 years... Italy, Austria, Bosnia, Croatia, Wallachia, Albania, Moldavia, Armenia, Georgia, Poland, the Ukraine, and eastern and southern Russia.
They were all battlefields where Islam conquered or was conquered in violent conflicts marked by cruelty, bloodlust, and a fearful loss of life, spread over considerably more than a thousand years... stopped in France by Charles Martel.
European history has remained transfixed on the Christian Crusades of the eleventh to the thirteenth centuries, it has largely ignored these Muslim attacks and invasions...When accusing the West of imperialism, Muslims are obsessed with the crusades, but have forgotten their own longer and more gruesome Jihad.

All religions claim to be of peace because they believe that their way is the only right way, as where others would view them and their actions as non-peaceful. Not subscribing to any religion myself, I haven't found a 'religion' that is of peace. Peaceful religious people, yes, but not a peaceful religion.

Very much so. Get an english copy of al Qur'an, and make sure it is a good copy. Read it for yourself. Also, you can go to your local book store or library and get books that explain Islam far better than I could ever hope to.

No, of course not.
War to force people to adopt religion has been integral to Islam from the beginning.
While there are indeed Christian pacifists, the Anabaptists for example, pacifism has no place in Islam as it does in Christ's teaching.
It was not Mohammad who said, "Love your neighbor."
