Well, I suppose the faulty precept is #1. I respect William Shakespeare, a man I've never actually met. All I know about him is from other people's reports and anecdotes - plus, great works that are attributed to him. He may not have actually existed, in fact - evidence is mixed - but still in respecting the works of Shakespeare, I respect Shakespeare.
You could, if you chose to, use the same logic about God.
I don't, by the way. I don't believe in God at all. But I like a good logic game.

Your premise is wrong. I do not know very much about Gandhi but I respect him. We do not have a full knowledge of God but many people respect and even worship him. Why? It is called faith. God requires that of us.
Your question tells me that you are either an agnostic or an atheist. Well-known scientists have discovered God. You only have to examine the hard evidence with an open mind and you too will find God. Go to the links below to discover the truth of God.

Albert Einstein wrote in his book "The World As I See It" that the harmony of natural law "Reveals an intelligence of such superiority that, compared with it, all the systematic thinking and acting of human beings is an utterly insignificant reflection."
He went on to write, "Everyone who is seriously involved in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that a spirit is manifest in the laws of the Universe--a spirit vastly superior to that of man, and one in the face of which we with our modest powers must feel humble."
A very significant statement indeed, wouldn’t you say?
God wants to show how much he loves and cares for you. St. Augustine said, “our hearts are restless until they rest in thee.” I, too, found God the hard way like St. Augustine. Seek him. He wants to embrace you.
Peace and every blessing!

I argue that God can be percieved through the senses...
I see my beautiful children...
I hear music in nature...
I touch my computer keys and have conversation with others around the globe...
I taste amazing food...
I smell the orange blossoms...
These are all of or inspired by God. I have percieved God through my senses... Therefore I respect God and have reverence for his creations.

But you have to be able to trust your senses and the information given.
If the information is faulty or incomplete, the knowledge becomes, at best, an approximation.
If you draw a conclusion with faulty reasoning, your final answer is faulty.
Oh, and don;t confuse "can't" with "shouldn't"

3) speak for yourself.
not everyone is limited to just the organic senses.
additionally.. who asked you to respect God? God isn't a person such as needs "respect"
and why would you need to perceive something personally in order to have that knowlege?

If that is what you believe, then so be it. No one can force faith upon you (though many will try.) Your spirituality and your path toward it, or away from it is your own business. I won't defy anyone's faith in God, or lack of it.
