Does the NATO invasion of Afghanistan after 9-11 to attack El Qaeda and the Taliban prove somehow that Christianity is evil? Why or why not?

http://www.crisismagazine.com/april2002/cover.htm

Why was it bad that the Europeans united together and fought against foreign invaders on their own turf in order to preserve their freedom of religion?

Yes, obviously atrocities and war crimes were committed by the Europeans (and the Arabs) during hundreds of years of warfare, but why do atheists say that the fact that the Europeans fought back against foreign invaders is somehow proof that Christianity is evil?

Does the fact that it was NATO that united the West against the Taliban, instead of another international organization (like the Catholic Church – which was the only international organization in Medieval times), make our invasion of another country OK?

And how many people will actually READ this question before they attempt an answer?

Also, why do most Christians never engage in any serious bible study, and have in fact never even read the majority of what is written therein?

I'm not going to label christianity as a whole, but it seems as though many christians on here are opposed to science and a rational enganging of many of the issues that we face as a nation and a global community. I do feel as though some christians do keep their head in the sand and fear science and rationality, are blind to many things, and choose ignorance. This in turn only makes us look silly and intellectually inept. I urge all who are christians to actively engage and expand their boundries into the areas of science, philosophy and the like. One word, simplistic answers from the bible are not going to cut it in an argument with atheists and agnostics. The bible, beautiful and necessary as it is, was written to provide us with what we needed to obtain salvation, not as a dictionary for every answer out there. Let us be informed, "testing all things" and actively engaging our culture with wisdom, intellect and grace! "Be not afraid"

I know end my rant...

you tell a christian about the big bang theory, and they will reply "but where did it all come from?"

what theyre asking is, see all this stuff around you, that you can see and feel and hear and touch, where did it all come from?

however, when you ask them where did god from, they laugh at you

in other words, something that has NEVER been seen, NEVER been heard, NEVER been felt by the physical sense of touch, is immune from scrutiny regarding its origin

now, call me what you want

but that sort of carry on is ridiculous in the extreme

not to mention infantile and it kills all motivation for learning

if medicine had clung to such primitive thinking, our life expectancy wouldnt be anything as long as what it is now

im right arent i?

What, did god choose YOU to survive and not the others? Were THEY being punished for some reason? Did god love YOU more than them? YOU were special, THEY were not, so they got slaughtered?

And why are Christians so darned thankful to the point of calling it a MIRACLE when heaven is where you all think your going anyway? Seems to me you'd be calling it a miracle if you DID die in the bridge collapse. Why would it be a miracle if you DIDN'T die and go to heaven?

Christians believe in heaven, but seem to be TERRIFIED of it. Why? Could it be there is just a wee touch of doubt there? Otherwise you should be CELEBRATING when someone dies, cause they went to heaven, right?

I mean I have to admitt that I don't know much on the topic. But it seems to me that science through invention has given us every wonderful thing we use daily, computers, cars. And Science has rid us of lots of diseases, can save some with cancer. So why not use stemcell's to further our knowledge and ability to heal?
