It amazes me how little so many "christians" know about their own bible. It just makes it easier to debate with them, because I have read it...several times. And they can't even name 1/2 of their commandments.
If you are going to "fight for what you believe in" at least be educated on the topic.

Some people just say stupid things to people whether they're Christian or not.

Christians aren't perfect. Some of them think they are, but they're just deceiving themselves.

To tell you to "go read the Bible" and that you are "stupid" is their way of showing you that they don't know the answer to your question, but are too spineless to admit it. They would rather make you look like the stupid one.

If they knew the answer, they would be happy to explain it to you. The Bible is clear about Christians being patient and kind to people.

Also: When you read your Bible, ask God to come into your heart and give you the wisdom & knowledge to understand the scriptures. Then go get the Bible listed below. It is the easiest to understand.

Christians that say that don't say it because there christians, its because they're humans. If someone challenges what someone thinks the human reaction is to defend it. Obviously these christians in perticular didn't know the answer to said question and decided to lash out. Its human nature. To lose respect for a worldwide known and practiced religion because of what a couple say on Yahoo Answers is a little shallow isn't it. Thats like me not liking athiests because of the 'what should I do retard'. Just silly really

It has been my experience that most non-Christians have read and studied the Bible more than most Christians have.

Most Christians seem to rely on a Pastor, Preacher or Priest to interpret the Bible for them and teach the conten to them, but don't take the time to actually read it themselves.

Not only do I loose respect for a Christian that cannot answer a question about the Bible, I loose respect for them when they try to appear all knowing anyway. Instead of just admitting that they do not know and offer to inform themselves by researching it before making a statement of fact.

I also loose respect for Christians that claim to be Christian because they attend Church, but they do not live the life of a Christian or the teachings of Christ. Christians who act like they are better than the rest of the world because they ARE going to Heaven because THEY go to Church, BUT they also commit adultery, condone pedophilia, are envious and greedy, because although they might have the resources to help make this world a better place, they choose to hard all of their resources to themselves. in short, they DO NOT live the teachings of Christ, but they believe they will go to heaven because they go to Church every Sunday.

If going to Church makes you a Chrisitan, Does going to a garage make you a car? You need to LIVE yout faith as well.

Like Ghandi said...
I like your Christ, but I do not like your Christians... They are so unlike your Christ.

Only MY Opinion...

First I apologize for any Christian who has come before me and has darkened your view of God.

Natural man cannot understand spiritual things so us telling you to read the bible is a mute point. Without the Holy Spirit to interpret Scripture for you, you will not understand what you are reading. You will know what you read in some cases but you won't understand it's meaning. True wisdom comes from God.

I noticed that in your question about animals, and it's certainly not uncommon around here...

Don't worry about it. They're the ones caught in the trap. We're the objective observers who can tell that something is very much amiss.

If the Bible can't be taken literally, can't be understood by a human mind, or must be thoroughly researched for what the "truth" really is, it is neither authoritative nor effective in its self-proclaimed purpose for humans.

Christians usually don't read the bible. They have others tell them what it says.

I lose respect for anyone who degrades another for their beliefs.

As a Scientologist I respect all people and all Religious beliefs. Each person has a right to their belief and also has the right to change that belief.

Somebody who uses belief or lack of belief as an attack point should consider carefully their actual motives.

A stupid question is one not asked, so ask away. Calling you stupid is just a coward's way, not a Christians, of dodging the question because they don't know the answers themselves. It is better for a Christian to shut the trap and quit trying to "appear" more spiritual than you have yet reached. I apologize for any professed believer's who is calling names and belittling because it shows that they do not possess whom they profess. And Jesus deserves better than that!

I admit some Christians can be a bit radical but you shouldn't judge the whole religion. I am Christian and have gotten hate from other "Christians" because I support gay rights and "dress like a slutt". I don't judge anyone who doesn't believe in God even though I don't agree with them and they say some foolish things at times. It's not my place to judge them - their time will come
