When it comes to any issue at all. Gays, Stemcell Research, oh and the war. Why's Bush doing this, because he's doing God's will, or at least I think he'd say it if he were allowed.

The fundamentalist Christians vote in a bloc. They endorsed Bush. In the next election it is very unlikely that they will vote in a bloc again as they are not pleased with the way things went with the Bush Administration. As the fundamentalist Christians put Bush into power, he is beholden to them in a big way, so things are tending to go in the direction that they want. I think the next election is going to have a VERY different result - wait and see.

Btw: he HAS said that he has talked to God about this, which to me is frighening as apparently he honestly believes he has god's approval for the war in Iraq, which is killing thousands.

Bush =/= US. Bush is, however, a fundamentalist Christian. He still does not represent all fundamentalist Christians.
