Atheism is not a book.
Bible study leads people to atheism because the Bible could not possibly be literally true in its entirety, because it says contradictory things. Once you reject the literal truth of the bible, all that's left is metaphorical usefulness.
You can be an atheist and still extract the metaphorical ethical teachings, and that way you don't need faith in something without evidence.
Also, those who study the bible seriously are probably more intellectually driven anyway, and are thus more likely to be atheist (at least according to the studies I've seen and my personal experience.)

This is an outright lie. I have been in a serious study of the Bible for 8 years and it has brought me closer to God and strengthened my faith. I have read the Bible cover to cover 11 times and am in my 12th and 13th time in 2 concurrent Bible studies. I am not alone, nearly every serious Christian I know reads the Bible daily. Where you get this idea is beyond me. Come to Christ

Because when a person makes a serious study of the Bible, he sees no similarity between what the Bible teaches and what "Christians" practice.
There is a Christian religious group that studies the Bible daily, but they are hated by other "Christians".

Julia Sweeny did a really great summary of her experiences and revelations in "Letting go of God". She pretty much summarizes my examination of my own faith and the conclusion that I made that there is no god.
Bible study with a critical mind will lead you to recognize that it is pretty much nonsense. This is why I encourage people to actually study the Bible. You find that most Christians only read what they want to. They don't seem to look at the whole book and they definitely do not examine it with a critical thought pattern.

Well I can only say that if you do go into serious Bible study- the "Christians" consider you to be part of a cult- when you refuse their man made tradition.. so you can't win for losing can you??

Quite right, most Christians don't do any serious Bible Study. Why should they - once they believe Christ is God they have the promise of eternal life [John 3:16]. What's your excuse?

You can read the bible all day long, and never come to the truth. What's your point?
Now, never mind about that.
Get the ball, get the ball, that's right go get it boy.

Why do most atheists trying to disprove Christ become Christian? Read the book The Case for Christ.
