lend First we could go on for days about whether or not we should have dropped the bombs on Japan. Even Eisenhower questioned not just the morality, but the necessity of it.
But more importantly, if you reread my question you will see that I never suggested that The United States should not have built nukes but I am trying to understand why building weapons intended to kill millions of civilians is acceptable but homosexuality is somehow the worst among all sins.

Steve, why would gay sex be an abomination but one person having the ability to instantly kill millions not be an abomination?

Nuclear weapons have been around only for fifty years. Homosexuality has been around for more than 6,000 years.
The point is, when sin was defined, nuclear weapons did not exist

Iran is unstable enough that one of their military commanders might use them without first thinking of the risks. They aren't worried about stable countries having the bomb. Stable countries won't use weapons like that. Not to mention is also throws a wrench in the US goal of eliminating all nuclear weapons. If we let any new country have them, then no one will want to get rid of any nuclear weapon.

In my world and in my beliefs, homosexuality is not a sin....
it does take some very sick and twisted individuals thought to come up with weapons of mass destruction and take no social or moral responsibility.....that is what sickens me....the ability to blow up the entire world and then some and everyone wants to sit around a quarrel over sex between 2 consenting adults....
things that make ya go "HMMMMMMMMMMM."

The people that tend to support the use of wmd's such as nukes are usually rednecks who feel what they're doing is right, including suppressing homosexuals.
I will never understand why homosexuality is such a sin other than b/c of Fundies' hate and fear.

Lev 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
This is from the Bible and should explain why homosexuality is wrong to Christians that believe their Bible.
God loves all people and as Christian's we are supposed to do the same. We don't have to like what a person is doing to love them.

Don't see the relationship there. Are you saying that since some people believe that nuclear weapons are a good thing, than homosexuality should be too?
Most people believe that nuclear weapons are a necessary evil, homosexuality is not necessary.

Dropping two nuclear bombs stopped a huge war that was killing millions people. If we didn't have nukes, the countries that did have nukes would be in total control of us. Did you really want the former Soviet Union be in control of the world? Do you want Iran to be in control of the world?

who said its not a sin? murder is a sin. and i personally dont think homosexuality is a gigantic sin. if two people love each other, they deserve to be together. love is God's greatest gift to the world. no one but God should have the power to say whether love is right or wrong. but quite apart from that, i think that one person with that kind of power, able to kill millions on a whim, is trying to play god themselves. that, to me, is a much greater sin.
