I disagree - though there are many similarities in just about all of them:

An afterlife, rewards for living according to the "rules", and punishment for those who don't...

What really confuses me is the HUNDREDS of different branches of Christianity - that is, ALL religions that believe in the teachings of Jesus himself!

In this modern age, do we really need 50 different groups who's belief system is 99.9% the same as all the others fighting each other over some MINOR little detail in a 2000 year old BOOK?!?!?

Given that you've only give 3 religions and very superficially compared them it's rather hard to agree with you. There are often some to many simularities between religions for example the Esscenes and Christianity but often there are fundamental differences like Odin as head God and you becoming a god in LDS. Given there have been numerous cultures with numerous different gods and beliefs it would be hard to say that they were the same. If you were implying that different cultures create their gods from their explinations of the world, I'd agree.

No. Different religions have different belief systems and utilize different doctrinal structures. Christianity has a few foundations that made it stand out to me.

First, God proves His Word and existence via the vehicle of prophecy. No other religion or holy book prophesies except the Bible.
http://schnebin.blogspot.com/2006/05/gods-word-proven.html

This Bible says that there is only One Way to the Father, and that is through the Savior, Jesus Christ (Yeshua HaMeshiach). Who was the only one able to raise Himself from the dead to prove He had the keys of death and the grave.

This Bible also says that there is no way you can work your way to heaven--by being good, by giving money, by keeping the law. So God, via His grace and mercy, came down to earth in the form of man, and died in our place and offers this salvation as a free gift for all who desire it.

This Savior was the only One to have His coming prophesied in advance.

The above separates my belief system from all the others.

Oh, and BTW, if the God of Israel and Christians is the same god as Islam, then why does Islam treat Israel and Christians as infidels? Why does the Qu'ran threaten the Saturday and Sunday worshipers with annihilation? Is it not written on the Dome of the Rock "Allah is god and he has no son" ? You can be as politically correct as you want regarding this question, but being PC does not make you correct.

My belief is that, if there is a god, there's one God with many manifestations. So I guess the short answer to your question would be "There are no differences in God." Obviously true polytheists would disagree.

However, religion is much more than a belief in God. You cannot discount the culture/society a religion is a part of. So there *are* multiple religions because each has a unique dogma.

Judaism, Christianity and Islam are for a big part the same because these 3 believe in One God but Buddhism is different because they don't believe in a god but in a human that has found Nirwana.

Yes they are from the same GOD. Different Candles(religions), One light(GOD). That is beautiful way to put it in of how I feel about things, after a long detailed investigation I did in my life.(Bahai, Hinduism, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Zoroastrianism, Buddhism, etc)

All religions talk about the same God. All prophets are from the same God, and they're like reflecting mirrors reflecting the light of Sun on the earth in different places in earth, at different times. From a city where war was fought in the name of the religion, I agree religion should believe in uniting people. Abdu'l-Bahá says: 'If religion be the cause of disunity, then irreligion is surely to be preferred.' (Compilations, Bahiyyih Khanum, p. 202)

Bahai's believe in Progressive revelation(Meaning all prophets sent by same GOD, and there will be future prophets too). It must be from the same God, to wrap the concept of Unity, and Peace among all mankind on earth. Founded by Baha'u'llah(who was preceded by BAB, who is believed b the Bahai's as the Second Coming of the Christ during the year 1844[referred in the Bible] and 12th Imam of Shiah Islam.). The 12 fundamental principles are (1)Unity of God (2)Unity of religion (3)Unity of mankind (4)Gender Equality (5)Elimination of all forms of prejudice (6)World peace (7)Harmony of religion and science (8)Independent investigation of truth (9)Universal compulsory education (10)Universal auxiliary language (11)Obedience to government and non-involvement in partisan politics (12)Elimination of extremes of wealth and poverty.

Hope this helps. Best of luck in your individual investigation. :-)

sure and No. in short; to quote his H.H the Dalai Lama XIV- "the finished purpose of religion is to facilitate love and compassion, staying power, tolerance, humility, and forgiveness.” All Religions are no longer the comparable, yet all of them share comparable teachings( some extra advantageous than others ) it somewhat is how they're expressed, worshipped and portrayed by ability of followers that they are considered as diverse. it somewhat is the non secular., no longer the religion. who carry' out the "dogmas" of their faith. we would desire to constantly no longer decide others based on their Relgious ideals yet somewhat their intentions as Beings to others beings. Their isn't any genuine incorrect or suitable. those are in basic terms percieved from an indiv. foundation. no longer an entire.

IMO, every religion is looking at the same thing, each one is just looking through different colored lenses.

Leave Buddha out of it. He's got nothing to do with those other freaks.

There's LOTS of differences. If you try to make them similar, you oversimplify them.
