Now, I know I'm not the smartest man around, but I don't think I've ever managed to ask a question about the bible and not have someone tell me that I'm taking it "out of context".
You'd think even a dummy like me would get it right once or twice out of pure chance....

Does anyone have any good ideas/spells/activities for Lughnasadh besides baking bread? I am thinking about participating in a handfasting, but not quite sure I am ready to do that yet. Suggestions?

My mother-in-law wants to donate her entire body to science. Will a Catholic priest or the Catholic church for that matter still perform a funeral mass if there is no body or ashes?

Pro sports teams are always praying to him before each game. Why does he have to affect the outcome, why can't he just stay out and let them play?

Any special significance (either personal or spiritual) that you have with this turn of the Wheel? It's the Grain Harvest, but anything in addition to that?

4. For is someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough. 5. but I do not think I am in the least inferior to those "super apostles. (Means false apostles.)

Verse..14..And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 15. It is not surprising , then, if his servants masquerade as servantrs of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.

Then there is also the scripture about wolves in sheeps clothing, seeking to devour you..another scripture about ones twisting the scriptures to their own interpretations.

No one but JW's use the NWT..Why? because it is not accepted as a Bible for all..It is written for JW's beliefs. Do not forget..that Johannes Greber , translated a Bible too..like JW's..he got his information from a spirit. His Bible is very simular to yours. John 1;1

Why didn't Jesus protect all of the people who were brutally murdered, or killed by suicide bombs, or swept away by the waves? Why does Jesus let people die painfully everyday?

Perseus, the killer of Medusa, for one, was born to Danae, whom Zeus impregnated through a "shower of gold." Hercules, too, was born from Zeus and an earthly mother named Alcmene. These stories date to at least the 3rd century BCE.
Hmmm, do you think that just maybe your own religion is merely built from the ideas that other religions had long before yours existed?

Haj Amin Al-Huseini was an imam in Jerusalem. Not only did he meet with Hitler in the hopes of constructing a death camp for the Jews of Israel, he also took part in the creation of Muslim SS troupes.

why is there so much disagreement about them?
Isn't your god able to provide a text that everyone, despite their differences, able to agree upon? Or is that one of his limitations?

trying to disprove what they say does not exist. IE: God. I do not believe in the toothfairy, It doesn’t bother me if someone else does that their own mistake if they do. I hear from your side “because you people force your beliefs on MY government” But I say that works both ways, some have FORCED your belief of evolution (which there is not one shred of evidence to support) in to the schools as fact. The new religions of Global warming and its high priest Al Gore, force their views and ideals into our government’s policies, the schools, our workplaces, even into our trash cans, that is far more intrusive than any church has attempted to do to you, so why the double standard?

I grew up a Christian and was always tought that if I did not accept Christ as my savior that I would be doomed to hell after my passing. After speaking with a close Buddhist friend of mine (who thinks very highly of Jesus Christ) she insisted that if I were to embrace differering beliefs, as long as my heart was pure and focused on good deeds that I would enter a "different" heaven than that of Christianity. Can anyone (a practicing Buddhist or Christian) please help shed some light on how to live as a good person, following my heart to bring good deeds to the world without the fear of going to an eternal place of suffering because I did not embrace the teachings of Christ? Shouldn't my good deeds, delivered with pure intent from my heart dictate how and where I end up after this life? Any input from practicing Buddhists and/or Christians would be greatly appreciated!!

I ask this question because I read many answers here where people claim to have "made the choice" to believe in God or Jesus or Allah and the such like.

This makes me wonder whether belief is something that is arrived at through understanding and contemplation...or if it is something that one can just "adopt" out of convenience.

How for instance could I just "choose" to believe that I am the sexiest guy on Earth, (because that would be nice).

By the way I do believe in God, but it took years of being a curious questioning non-believer before I could make the transition. Is there another true path?

I sort of have an answer formulated on this, but thought I would ask out of interest and see what your opinions are. Aside from the usual hate-mogering "Islam abuses women" thing.

The reason I ask this question is because I can't find ANYWHERE in the Qu'ran where it determines that women are less worthy to lead prayer or be scholars of faith. Even in Hadith, Aisha taught much of Islam and Mohammed would refer people to her to learn much of what is considered practical. Also, Fatima (his daughter) had a fair hand (pun intended) in the teachings and practices of Islam as well.

Should women be allowed to be Imam? Should a woman be allowed to make the Azan? Why or why not?

Every since I was young I would have dreams of someone who has died and like a week later someone I know has died. Or I have dreams of babies or being pregnant and months later someone in my family comes up pregnant. I'm good at tarot cards but I had to stop b/c my mom said that it's the devil. Am I a psychic or is just deja vu like my mom says.

house and started living in sin, doing drugs, and (GASP!) having kinky sex - would burn them and their children, born and unborn, to death? And then condemn them to an eternity of torment?

2007-07-30 03:45:36 · 17 answers · asked by Jack 5

I have heard that organ donation should be thought about deeply before signing an organ donation card. Jesus said "If the right eye makes you sin, then cut it off." "It is better you you to live in heaven without a right eye than to burn in Hell." So does that mean if I donate my heart to science after I die, I will not have a heart in heaven? Please, if you can, give Biblical references!
