I've had lots of questions/answers conversations with many of you now, some that continued through email. I'm just wondering, what is the spectrum of careers and educations out there in the Yahoo R&S world? I'll answer my own question- I am a paralegal, but have a bachelor's in English, and am probably gonna go to law school in the next year or so (still trying to make up my mind if I want to have babies, or go to law school first lol).

Seriously. I came home from watching the movie (Which was awsome by the way) and one of my neighbors who is a little too religious to be mentally fit started going on about how the Transformers are manifestations of the Devil meant to lure people to sin.

Now this was the strangest thing I've ever heard. First off it's a movie. Second, the Heroes in the movie show more courage than anyone I've seen show in real life. What gives?

I've talked to people of many religions. Take Baptists for instance (not picking on you, sorry), I have yet to find two Baptists that believe the same things. I haven't talked to many Catholics, but they seem confused about what they believe. I just think that if you are in a certain religion, that all the members should believe the same thing. What do you think?

I refer to my earlier question here:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AuPvwX34U88MhXRoJZbDOZTd7BR.?qid=20070706072223AAgYWM5

Then does this mean that in being naked, the state of which they were first ashamed when they ate the fruit, was the first act of evil?

And does this mean that God created them to do something evil even though they could not know about it? Had they never eaten, would they have continued naked forever, doing something shameful without a concept of shame?

I ask this question to practicing Wiccans, Witches and Pagans because only you can give the answer I am seeking. I mean no disrespect to other religions or faiths.

My question is... what does being a witch mean to you? If someone brand new to the path asked you, “What is a Witch?” what would your heartfelt response be?

I ask this question over and over through the years and love some of the amazingly beautiful answers I receive. Several years ago when I wrote my book, I asked the same question, “What does being a witch mean to you?” and I placed some of the most eloquent answers in my book, with permission from the people that supplied the answers.

I am in the process of revising the book for a new print in a new edition and thought it would be wonderful to have some new responses as to “What is a Witch” from some folks today.

So, what is a witch you? In your words, what is it to be a witch, what does it mean to you on many different levels?

Thanks for your in-depth and heartfelt responses in advance!

OH… and if you would be willing for your response to be in the newest edition of my book, please let me know and make sure that there is a way I can contact you, even if that means you contact me first via my email.

Warm Blessings

In most religious and spiritual teachings, the act of suicide is forbidden. Many of these teachings also say that if you ask for forgiveness - God will forgive. So if, in the process of committing suicide you ask for forgiveness - will you go on to the the Hereafter?

I asked a question last week why Mormons don't drink coffee or tea. The bulk of answers were from Mormons and most said it was not a direction from god but a directive from the church to avoide caffene.
If that is the case why do MOST of the Mormons I know avoid tea and coffe but drink Coke, Dr Pepper and heaps of other stuff containing caffene?

For all of you protestant Christians out there, if the Scriptures are sufficient and contain all that a person needs to know God and walk after the example of Christ, why can't any of you agree on anything? If your interpretation of Scripture is guided by the Holy Spirit, then does the Holy Spirit not know Himself since you claim that the Holy Spirit is God? I know protestant Churches that believe in the sacramental view of baptism, communion, marriage, and still others that say it is all just a symbol. IIf this is not important, why did Christ and the apostles put so much emphasis on these 'unimportant' things? If your God is personal and can be known personally, then how calm no one can agree as to whether He double predestines people, whether He gives true free will, whether He judges people based on faith alone or on faith and works both, or just works, or just Grace? Some can't even agree that God is Trinity! If you knew Him personally, wouldn't you know His personality?

If the christians love everyone and shame no one, why do they want to "cure" people of who they are as a person. This just seems barbaric and very blaming and shame casting.

I'm college educated and well read. I'm self educated on matters such as evolution vs creation and have taught extensively on this and other matters of science. I know several Christians who think deeply and seriously about life, science and ethics. They are quite intelligent and many have college degrees in things other than philosophy.

Honestly then (and by that I mean with thought and tact) why do many of you on here bash Christians as uneducated, brainwashed idiots.

I don't want to here from Christians on this. I know your opinions. I want to hear from people who actually feel this way.

"Is Allah anymore or less real than the Abrahamic God if he is derived directly from that idea of god; Is he different: is he any better suited or more worthy of mankind's praise; or, is he merely the same old worn out man-invented idea under the disguise of a different sounding Arabic word that when translated means god?"

Have you noticed that all of the groups of people who were untouched by the bible : Ancient civilations such as egyptians, Greeks etc, and Native Americans, Africans, Australian Aboriginals, all have belief systems very similar to the pagan based faiths we see today?
That divided by seas, isolated from each other, they all came to pretty much the same conclusions?
I have been studying the Pagan Faiths for some time now and i have seen the simalarities in them.
What are your thoughts on this?
Thank you!
Ariel
