First, you'd have to go by the incorrect assumption that homosexuality is an acquired condition that one can revert from.
As this is not the case, and past attempts have a near 100% failure rate, do yuo think that it can be cured?
Curing someone of what is more likely a personality is on-par with brain washing.

The same reason they reach out to pedophiles and rapists and alcoholics and addicts. The mere fact that traits and inclinations make someone "who they are" doesn't mean it's OK, or that it doesn't need to be corrected. Man and boy love society thinks sex between adult men and boys is ok, and to them they really believe it's "normal".. so should Christians just leave them alone as well?
Our goal as Christ Ones and the body of Christ is to keep people out of eternal torment. That is not barbaric, on the contrary it is LOVE and concern.
"Cure" no.. Turn away from as sin.. YES! Absolutely, It's been done many times over.
All in perspective love.. all in perspective.
Have a great one! =)

I don't believe so. I look at things like this, this religious intervention, causing more harm than good. Have you ever seen the movie "Saved"? The little girl sleeps with her boyfriend to try to make him "un-gay" but his parents find out and send him away to a religious camp. At the end of the movie he's still gay but has a boyfriend. The point I'm trying to make here is that it probably won't work, if anything they will just succeed in brainwashing those young enough to be fooled, and then they will be unhappy for the rest of their lives because they are lying to themselves.

It's not just the Christians. It's simply people who are ignorant of the facts, and do not want to know them. Christians are not the only closed-minded people in the world.
My religion is Wicca, I worship the God that is profiled in the New Testament. While I have my differences with Christians, I have the open-mindedness of Wicca. I know it's not a choice. If it were it seems a choice much less difficult to live with. Although let me contradict myself. I would prefer to be lesbian than straight. Many long stories attached to that....
Blessed Be & may Peace be unto you

Its not a "cure", its an awakening. There have been rare medical cases where people are found with both sex organs, or other genetic problems. That is not the rule,
it is the exception. Always has been.
Yes, people who have thought they were gay have realized that they were only "talked into being gay" by peer pressures (its been "cool" in high school to be "bi" and "goth") or because a young person has a confused sense of who they are and they so very much want to be able to indentify themselves - so along comes this cool group who pushes the gay thing, and what happens? All these people who have low self-esteem and no identity all of a sudden find that they can call themselves a part of this great movement called "gay rights". Its all bull. To even pay it a second of attention is ridiculous, frankly, but since the gay lobbyists have so much disposable income (no expense of raising children) they have pushed this thing way futher than what it ever should have been.
Now when you have no identity or nothing to make you special, and you are in junior high school, you can find yourself in some gay group. And, the really cool thing is, you get to shock the hell out of your parents all at the same time. Perfect for kids, just perfect.
You are obviously too young to realize what
is really going on; there isn't any barbaric thing going on where all these millions of people are getting their rights stomped on;
The gay portion of this Nation alone is about ONE PERCENT. And yes, people
stop being gay - thousands and thousands of them - and ya know what? They are so persecuted for STOPPING THE BEHAVIOR that you wouldn't even believe it. Check out the X-GAY folks. In a high
School in Massacussets, the x-gay group gave out flyers spreading the message that YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE GAY IF YOU DON'T WANT TO.
Do you know what happened? The School itself - the faculty - put huge garbage cans in the halls with big signs on them:
"PLACE YOUR X-GAY FLYERS HERE",
and to top it off, they placed guards at the trash cans to be sure they were not removed.
This gay things has gotten to the point where if you AREN'T GAY then you are the one who is persecuted, not anyone who is gay.
Being a human being is not in any way shameful, but human beings can display a behavior that is shameful: example here:
A woman gets off the bus in Philadelphia,PA with her two young kids in hand. She took them for a day trip to that fine City to see the museums, which are very popular. She is unaware of what all the excitement is about, but sees a street blocked off, and notices a parade coming from the distance. In excitement, she tells her kids: "watch, here comes a parade!!".
She stands in horror as the first float comes in full sight, and what does she see?
A big flowery float with two big fat hairy men in see-thru pink baby-doll nighties who french kiss, fondle each others penis, then smile and wave to the crowd.
Do what you want, sweetie, but this is behavior that i do not want my kids to see.
It is VERY SHAMEFUL BEHAVIOR, AND IF YOU DON'T THINK SO, THEN YOU ARE THE BARBARIC ONE.
If two married people fondled each other in public EVER, they would find themselves quickly behind bars. Very quickly, I might add.
Christians want people to act decently and respectfully, thats all. And its not just Christians, but DECENT, CARING PARENTS OF ALL RELIGIONS, regardless of what God they worship.
its just plain decency, decorum, proper behavior. You can't even understand these basic ideals, can you? You can't understand the difference between simple right and wrong, can you?
There is no longer any line drawn in the sand. You want to have carte blanche do anything that feels good to your panty area, and thats more important to you than bringing up balanced, healthy children, isn't it? Don't give me the garbage about "love is beautiful between any two people" crap.
Lets be adult here, and lets be real;
This is NOT about natural love, this is about
SEX BETWEEN TWO MEN; OR TWO WOMEN and you stomping on the rights of every single person in the Nation, so that you can have your own filthy deeds justified and validated. Well, there isn't any justification for that kind of display, and there is not one person who is still of sound mind that will validate it.
A whole lotta stuff has changed since the
50's and 60's, but one thing that has not changed is that right is still right; and wrong is still wrong. You can call these things right all ya want, but quess what: they are still wrong.

Many of them seem to have a strange fascination and obsession with homosexuality, even though it's rarely mentioned in the Bible, and not at all by Jesus Himself. Very odd, isn't it?
It makes me uncomfortable to see people trying to write with their left hands, with their awkward, twisted hand positions. I wish they'd learn to write with their right hands like everyone else. I'm sure, given enough time with a cattle prod, I could get them to write right-handed. I don't care if they get ulcers in the process, just so long as I don't ever have to watch them write with their left hands any more.
I wonder if there is a parallel.

Can ignorance be cured by atheism?
We try and we try and sometimes it works.
It is barbaric to think that a religion would preach such disrespect and hatred for a fellow man.
Sexuality (hetero and homo) are societal constructs. They only exist in our heads.
Similarly, the Easter Bunny and god are religious constructs and only exist within their heads.

No Christian can cure anyone from homosexuality, only God can do that. I don't care what anyone else thinks God loves all people and wants all to come to Him as they are, no exceptions. I f there is anything after that that needs to be changed it is up to Him not us to change that. Just think of all the people you may be preventing from knowing Christ because of prejudices. Christ paid a high price for our freedom and it is not up to us to decide who gets it and who doesn't. It is for all of us,

No, so far it does not seem that it is possible to 'cure' homosexuality. Homosexuality is neither a choice nor a disease, it is a psychological state and is determined quite early in a person's life. Anyone who tells you homosexuality is a choice or can be 'cured' doesn't know what they're talking about.

If it is a spirit or demon, then casting it out would help,
It is a learned experience and habits would have to change and the lifestyle
If the person wants God and seeks God for repentance and turns from his way he will help him
