Seriously. I came home from watching the movie (Which was awsome by the way) and one of my neighbors who is a little too religious to be mentally fit started going on about how the Transformers are manifestations of the Devil meant to lure people to sin.

Now this was the strangest thing I've ever heard. First off it's a movie. Second, the Heroes in the movie show more courage than anyone I've seen show in real life. What gives?

Evil to him who evil thinks.

The "evil" in the movie may have to do with sentient creatures not of this earth who don't seem to be creations of God Almighty. That's very threatening to those who think the Bible is literally the be-all, end-all of all existence. I suppose a case could be made, from that mindset, that anyone who would introduce the thought that "our" God is not necessarily the god of the universe must be the Devil.

Your neighbor must lie awake nights fretting over Harry Potter, too.

If you watch Clerks 2, you'll see a 5 minute bit about this.

"Since God created Man, and Man created the Transformers...the Transformers are like a gift from God, Randal!"

I think your friend is talking a load of rubbish, the idea is based on fantasy and its for entertainment. I have not seen this movie but am looking forward to it.
Take the film for what it is meant to be and nothing more.

well first off, satanic ties are not always obvious so you could be easily fooled. i don't think it's right to say everything is satanic, but if you feel uneasy watching something like that, then that's your conviction. don't force it on anyone else - huge turn-off! so i understand why you'd think your neighbour's a nut. when someone has a personal relationship with God though (yes, such a relationship exsists), they discern things other ppl don't. but like i said, forcing your convictions on others, like you neighbour is doing, is wrong.

He probably thinks that the aliens who probe his butt at night is god. Just ignore him unless he starts up a day care and you see little kids around him then hit his head with a shovel...haha

To Christians, anything fictitious is Satanic.

Except for the most absurd work of fiction of all time.
