okay, so many of you have said that you believe in adult baptisms. i take it that its so the individual will fully understand the nature of what they are doing. however, i'm willing to bet that you're the same ones who raise your kids in the church and teach them bible stories at a young age at which they are not developed enough to question what you're teaching them. my question to you is, how can you distinguish between the two? they go hand in hand. isn't that hypocritical of you?

In order to be saved you must believe in God before you see God. If you see God first, then it's too late and you're already doomed. This covers my azz so that I am never put in a position in which I have to prove any of my claims. They just have to take my word for it, because the price of not taking my word for it is damnation.

Honestly now, isn't this the most perfect arrangement you can think of for a scam?

I'd like to believe that if God was real and if it was so important to him that we believe he's real, then he would not be playing silly mind games with the fate of our eternal souls. He would make it completely obvious to every last one of us that he is the real deal and leave no room for doubt.

But since that is not a suitable arrangement for a good scam, that's not the way it is.

The company paid money for the advertisements. Yet the Mormon owner of the land (Barry South, of whom I know personally), got pissed and had the signs taken down.

I believe that this is total BS. What do you think Mormons? What happened to free speech? Freedom of expression? Religious freedom?

I don't know if this is true, but I understand all the clothing we buy will have a RFID wire in it and they can track you ie when you enter walmart and they will know your buying preferences ect..
Is this an invasion of our privacy??
It seems really strange that they could trace me by my clothing.

For anyone to say, I am "God's Son" and expect people to believe it nowadays, they would be institutionalized and medicated. So why is it that people still believe that Jesus was "God's Son". I happen to think that Mary was one of the very few to have a child out of wedlock, and explained it away by saying that the baby was "God's Child". She was so good with this lie that she even convinced the poor boy that he was just that. As for his abilities, anyone that believes that they have powers of any kind will have them. Belief is reality.
But what are your thoughts?

There is this woman in church. I try to avoid her because when I am face to face with her I sweat, I am very nervious, my palms get wet and almost always I say something stupid. I m a single man. She wears a hugh real rock on her left ring finger. She does nothing to encourage me. She will say polite hello and small talk in passing. I thought the more I confront this problem the more it would decrease but I was wrong. What can I do.

My mother in law is a devout catholic and crosses herself etc. Yet yesterday when loads of frogs had come onto the roads in our local area (because of the rains) she did not want me to rescue them from being run over (as I always do).

What do you think of this? Mum says she hates animals and if she had been noah, the ark would have only contained she, her snacks and a video of Most Haunted.

Mormons, Jehovah Witness and Muslims all claim to believe the apostle's teaching but believe it was lost and set aside the church's interpretation of the scriptures as corrupted and every translation excepting their own special books. But if we look at the writings of people taught directly by the apostles and even appointed by the apostles would we come to their conclusions?

The apostles taught men like Polycarp the successor to John chosen by John, Clement the successor to Peter chosen by PEter and people of their day like Ignatius who Polycarp wrote to. As serous challenge to all would be If you look at Polycarp, Celement and Ignatious writings see if they do or do not agree with Jehovah witness doctrines but rather would be consistent with orthodox Christian beliefs which they prefer to set aside and let the chips fall where thye may

In the NWT (the Jehovah's witness version of the bible), almost every time the Greek word "theon" appears, it is translated as "God" (Mt 22:37, Lk 10:27, Jn 1:1b, 8:41, 14:1, 17:3, 1Jn 4:7, 4:12, 5:2, Rev 14:7). But in Jn 10:33 the same Greek word "theon" is translated as "a god" (See Gr-Engl Interlinear). Why the inconsistency in the translation? If the NWT were consistent and translated "theon" of Jn 10:33 the same way it is translated in all the other verses above, how would Jn 10:33 read?

"Christ is God's Son and is inferior to him." Given in support of this position are these verses: "And lo, a voice from heaven, saying, 'This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased'" (Matt. 3:17). "I proceeded and came forth from God" (John 8:42). "If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I go to the Father; for the Father is greater than I" (John 14:28). "I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God" (John 20:17). "The head of every man is Christ, the head of a woman is her husband, and the head of Christ is God" (1 Cor. 11:3). "When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to him who put all things under him, that God may be everything to every one" (1 Cor. 15:28).

But what about John 10:30: "I and the Father are one"? Or, "He who has seen me has seen the Father" (John 14:9)? Or, "All that the Father has is mine" (John 16:15). Or, "The Jews sought all the more to kill him, because he not only broke the Sabbath but also called God his Father, making himself equal with God" (John 5:18)? Or, "[Jesus], though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped" (Phil. 2:6).

Only about 5% of Muslims are extremist and yet people treat regular working class Muslim badly because of them.... What do you expect us to do? leave our job, go to Iraq and find them? HOW?
One person said we should tell the extremist that and redirect our anger at them.. How do you expect us to do that? you have some extremist's number? or am i suppose to go to house by house and ask " Hey, Are you an Islamic Extremist because if you are I need to give you a piece of my mind?"
really we don't have any power or influence to do anything and media only makes things worse by putting some jack pot on t.v to talk about Islam when clearly that person has no idea what Islam is all about!

I am tired of people bashing our Mormonism by bringing up that Joseph Smith and Brigham Young practiced polygamy.

Members of the Latter Day Saints no longer practice polygamy! Joseph Smith and Brigham Young were men like the rest of us and fell into the temptation of sex with many women. We can't blame them for only being human. We can only pray that God will forgive them and that non-believers can understand that they were just men with desires.

Mormonism have been around for almost two hundred years and will last for another two hundred if man is still alive:)
