Down in Clearwater, Florida there was the very vague form of a human body with a cloth over the head. People screamed that it was Mary. The image had no face. It could have been any one of the billions of women living or dead.
Since no one has ever described Mary, or made a drawing of her in her time, a face wouldn't have made any difference anyway. Isn't the superstitious imagination wonderful ?

Well usually she speaks and says something helpful like 'I am the Virgin mary' I guess that could still be penelope pretending to be The Virgin - character acting for her next movie...now there's an idea.

Actually, what is supposedly seen is often dependent on the observer. Not all faces are perceived as Jesus or Mary.
Sometimes they are blamed on ghosts or other supernatural things. For instance, in the case generally referred to as the "Belmez Faces", a series of human-like faces that appeared on a house's cement floor was blamed on ghosts from people that were supposedly buried under the house.
Also, occasionally other religious figures are associated. For instance, there was a fish that supposedly had the name "Allah" written by the pattern of its scales on one side of it, and "Muhammed" on the other. The writing was in Arabic, so it pretty much just looked like a bunch of squiggles to non-muslims.

I know! I thought that Virgin Mary in the grilled cheese looked a lot like Drew Barrymore, myself!

Maybe the supposed Virgin Mary looks up at people from the puddle and asks herself: Who the hell is this idiot and why is he starring at me?

If people think they see the Virgin Mary in their hash browns or whatever-what difference does it make to you or me? It's their vision or delusion or what ever they want to call it. No harm done.

The only reason people "see" the virgin Mary is because their minds trick them into seeing what they want to beleive.

I saw the image of Jesus in a potatoe chip this morning.. Maybe I should have sold it on e-bay.. Oh well too late now I smothered it in hot sauce and ate it while watching Life of Brian... If I watch my feces and the image appears again in about 24 hours is that the second coming of Jesus ?

`Allah` appeared in a tomato, Churchill appears in the clouds, Elvis appears in a Grimsby chip shop, and Greeks and Romans, Norsemen and ancient Brits also had their delusions. We see what we need = seek and you shall find !
