My child doesn't go to church. I'm agnostic, my wife Buddhist, both sides of the family vary from Catholic to Southern Baptist to Buddhist. All are very respectful with their various beliefs. Nobody in my family pushes their religion on others.

Our daughter gets quite a few religious toys and books from our former babysitter's mother. They're close to us, sort of extended family since our families live far away. I personally don't mind the toys, but the motivation behind such gifts is because we aren't religious. It seems to me it's less about giving the gift, and more about getting the religious influence in my daughter's life.

Personally, I couldn't care less. I'll have more impact, my family's various faiths will have more impact, than some lady pushing religious toys on my daughter. It just seems a bit disrespectful, like an attempt to usurp our parental guidance she doesn't agree with.

What are your thoughts/opinions on such acts?

One of the ten commandments states thou shall not bow down to any false idols, or any items made from wood or gold ( not the exact extract but close enough) God is everywhere and you shouldnt need an aid to prey to him???

I have a friend who is getting divorce, I'm trying to cheer her up (she's much older than me, so no malice her dudes and ladies).

She's very religious. But because she's divorcing, people at her church has shut her off. Now she thinks that God has cursed her because of the divorce. It seems that people who has done more evil things (like steal, lie, murder, people who commit adultery, sodomy . . . etc.) are forgiven easier than people that do divorce.

Now my question is, how bad is it to God that people divorce? And is there hope for forgiveness? Isn't God forgiving?

This information was obtained from the World Christian Encyclopaedia.

There is an estimate of 150 major religions with more than one million or more followers in each religion. If you belong to one of these groups then mathematically you have a 1.5 percent chance that your belief is correct.

Therefore if you tell someone they are going to hell unless they believe in a certain religion you have only a 1.5 percent chance that your correct.

What do you think about that?

In your real life...do you keep yourself separated from people who have different beliefs than you or are you tolerant and establish a relationship with this person without involving your religious views?

Therefiore as the elect of God holy and beloved, put your tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you must do................

Why do Jehovahs Witnesses make a disfellowshipped person stay excommunicated for on average a full year to prove repentance?
Isn't this the same as, adding traditions to the gospel , that Christ rallied against.?

I mean If God almighty forgives us before we even ask....Then how can you make a decision that, The (errant) christian must prove to you that they are sorry and why does it take a year or more?
Aren't you going ahead of God?

Answers in your own words would be appreciated...Watchtower cut and paste answers will not be read by me.....I know what they say...I want to hear form you.

What do you think is the mark of the beast that Revelations talk about?

Revelation 19:20

20But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.

Were you surprised to discover Paris Hilton is a Roman Catholic? Did you see her on Larry King Live say that? Will there be a mass exodus from the Catholic Church? Since I was raised Catholic K-12 will Catholics spare me the overreactions? Will there be a marked decline in parents sending their kids to Catholic schools now that the entire world knows Paris went to Catholic schools as a kid?
