Why Christianity? I mean no where in the bible does it say to be Christian, Judaism and Islam were two of the earliest forms of "God" Worship so why did you choose Christianity, was it because your parents were Christian or what? And for that matter why stay in a religion that looks so bad to pagans and those not of the faith, i mean the bible says to worship the Lord right, well you don't have to do that by going to church, church is just a building, "God" is supposed to be everywhere, not just in a few thousand buildings.

If not, then why would we have to suffer the consequences of what "Adam and Eve" did? That's like punishing your daughter because of something her great grandfather did. Is it not?

note: This is coming from the premise that it's all true. I don't believe it is, but I'm going along for argument sake.

Don't they just feed each other, and make each other grow?

Is there really an important difference here?

I don't believe the Christian Bible, and can understand where most of the concepts of self-sacrifice, obedience, etc. would have come in handy for power over society when it was written. I'm not confused about the promise of a return, as it's just that - a promise; hope. I am confused, however, about the elaborate detail on things such as the Mark of the Beast. It seems as though it would have been easier to not write more than was necessary for their cause. Why is the description so detailed, and what was/is the social purpose of this "prediction"? Thanks!

When all I want to know about is what the bible is saying. It seems that the more questions I ask, the more they get angry. I once ask a man who was working at a church in Pacific Palisades, Ca. why they use the King James version of the bible? And he answered, in an angry tone. Because that is what we use!
Matthew 12:30 says that "he that does not gather with me scatters". He definitely pushed me away.
So, whats up with that? I have also been threatened with hell fire too. I thought it was God and his son who will do the judging? And who are these people who hand out small pamphlets. About pocket sized.
should'nt they clean themselves up before approaching me with Gods word. And more importantly, should'nt they learn to use the bible correctly so as to be understandable? Instead of just jumping around the scriptures like a machine gun fires bullets. RATT TAT TAT TAT TAT TAT TAT!!!
I do not want to listen to anyone who talks to me like that. MoredetailslaterasIreceiveanswers.

I know that I could have been aborted, but my birth mom chose life and placed me for abortion- she did not look at her pregnancy as a mistake, she chose to sacrifice her child to another couple, and not to death. I also have 2 adopted teenagers, and have personally met both of their birth moms- and I thank them every day, that they both chose life, even though a lot of people around them told them it would be better to abort. Anyone out there who knows that they may have been aborted, and want to share?

All my Catholic friends, including both those who embrace the faith and those who are trying to escape it, seem to be plagued with guilt.

Not having had a Catholic upbringing, I don't know the specifics but it seems to me that the clergy could lighten up a bit with their use of guilt to control the flock.

Despite other good things, this alone seems to be a big counter-productive 'force' to the overall message of love and kindness. It drives away some and enslaves others. I can't see this as the way Jesus would have liked it.

Can anyone explain to me why this is so common and an apparently necessary tool of The Church?

Approx. 50% of pregnancies end in miscarriage (many without realizing). This is FAR higher than the rate of pregnancies that end in abortion.

Why aren't they complaining about how wicked and evil god is?

Numbers 25:4 (King James Version)

"And the LORD said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may be turned away from Israel."

the church? The Bible states in 1 Timothy 3:15, "But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth."

I read this in 1 Corinthians 3:11, "For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ."

Then I found this verse in Ephesians 2:20, "And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;"

Then I saw this in Luke 6:48, "He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock."

From these verses, it appears that Christ is the "foundation" or pillar and ground of truth. Since Jesus Christ is also called the "Word" (1 John 5:7; John 1:1), it appears that the word of God (Christ) is the pillar and ground of truth.

Here are the verses:

1 This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings and blessed him, 2 and Abraham gave him a tenth of everything. First, his name means "king of righteousness"; then also, "king of Salem" means "king of peace." 3 Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, like the Son of God he remains a priest forever.

Obviously, this points to Jesus Christ who is our eternal high priest. But my question is really about Melchizedek......these verses make him sound like some sort of supernatural, eternal creation.....without beginning or end.

Should this be taken as a metaphor in this context?
Or should this just refer to Melchizedek as a type of Christ?

It states that Adultery, Fornication, Sex before marriage are all sins, not to mention Lust....

Now God 'fornicated' with the 'virgin' mary against her will, he is neither married to her, and Mary was happy with Joseph. Does that not mean that God is infact not only a sinner, but a rapist to boot?

With love and peace and with the words of Jesus maybe we will achieve world peace, if we try hard enough, first by uniting within ourselves. Then we move to the others. It aint gonna happen is it?

Egypt on Thursday finally banned all female circumcision, the widely-practised removal of the clitoris which just days ago cost the life of a 12-year-old girl.

Officially the practice, which affects both Muslim and Christian women in Egypt and goes back to the time of the pharoahs

Her mother accused the woman doctor of negligence, charging that her daughter's death was linked to the anaesthetic and not the removal of the clitoris, for which she had paid 50 pounds (nearly nine dollars).
