Well, according to Christian tradition, Jesus sits at the right hand of the father, God. There is Jesus, His Father and the Holy Ghost. They are together, The Trinity, One God, like minded. The whole idea of worshipping God is that we worship God and not an earthly government.

When Christianity first began, Jesus sent out His Apostles to proclaim His Authority and the Authority of His Father.

Early Christians were told not to worship or "bow down" before the earthly authority of Rome and the statues of the gods of mythology. Over hundreds of years, the Christians were successful and Rome fell. This continues to this day and is why Christians still maintain that you should not "bow down" before statues or governments. You can be supportive of the nation you live in, but you should not be a slave to your nation or any person(s) in your nation, or anywhere in the world. In the course of history, governments have the tendency to oppress the people they govern. Certain people become part of government, become corrupt and begin to oppress the people of the nation they govern. That is why we have separation of church and state, so that people in power in government, if they become corrupt, or, are already corrupt, cannot say that people should worship them, bow down before them, or pay homage to them. People are free under God. People can still say, "We worship God and not the government of this earth".

And the whole idea of worshipping Jesus, or, being a "slave" to Jesus, as some Christian orders have done in the past, exists because Jesus and His Truth shall set you free. In other words and ironically, to be a "slave" of Christ is to be free. If you worship Jesus Christ, you are free from the slavery and tyranny of this world.

Jesus is God.

* Jesus is expressly stated to be God or to possess Deity.
* Jesus is called by names that may only be used for God.
* Jesus possesses characteristics that only God can possess.
* Jesus does work that only God can do.
* Jesus deserves worship and honor that only God deserves.

In all these areas Jesus is described as the Creator, not a created being. He is eternal, has the power, and did the work of creation. He deserves honor as the Creator. Clearly He is not to be classed with the created things but with Deity.

But we have also proved that there is only one true God who made the universe. If Jesus is "god," He is not an idol nor a false god.

no....Jesus ISN'T a God.....nor is He a "thing"....He is God's only Begotten Son whom God had told us was our Savior, and that they were both in agreement of everything....and that you can either reach God directly or through the Son... so therefore, praising Jesus or asking Jesus for "help" is not wrong....

Peace be with you :)
