Actually loving Jesus is an extremely hard thing to do, because it revolves around faith, If you believe, loving Jesus will come, but even those who believe will question at some point of their lives and they have difficulties under standing why terrible things have happened, naturally they blame their lord and savior who is supposed to love them unconditionally and keep them safe, they dont under stand why he would allow horrible things to happen in their life, they dont realize that being a christian is not easy and pain is necessary to mature and understand, Ultimately coming closer to Christ. But without faith Christ can not be loved and faith is one of the most difficult things to conquer

As for him commanding... that is also difficult become humans on earth naturally want to be independant and when they feel that a presence is encroaching and trying to take that control away they feel inferior, and dont take kindly to it. Letting the lord in command of your life is difficult it requires you to throw away some parts of your life that you may like or love, but it is a sacrifice, and therefore when people are being asked to give up things they love they rebel, people want to do it their way not God's way it is a natural instinct that people struggle with and that is why christians have a hard time completely submitting to the life led by the lord

1. I don't take orders from imaginary beings or old mystics, whichever category you want to put JC in.
2. Funny how many JC followers hate gays, apparently loving is okay only under their guidelines.
3. If that were the only command, it wouoldn't be a problem - but there's a whole lot of other things in there, not to mention who can define love?

It must be very difficult to love as Jesus commands. Not for atheists so much as for Christians. Jesus loved the poor, and commanded that he who is without sin cast the first stone.
I see too much self satisfaction, too much emphasis on money and 'success'. Jesus was humble, his followers are not. Jesus spoke "Suffer the children to come unto me" He didn't say demand.
Pure love is very difficult for humans.

Love cannot be "commanded". That would be like me telling you, "I command you to love - or I'm going to run you over with my car." (the running you over part being akin to "Hell" or threat of damnation)

You would think I was a psycopath, run in the opposite direction and call the cops. Right? I mean - am I wrong?

There is two mandates: KNOW YOURSELF and LOVE YOUR BROTHER

Can you truly say you know yourself? Why do we do what we do? Why is it so hard to understand ourselves let alone someone else? Why must we hurt others? Why do we criticize others? Why do we turn our backs on others? Why is it if one thinks different then us we think he is ignorant?
When you can master yourself can one truly love his brother. Right now its hard for me to say I love all my brothers because I still find it hard to love a murderer, a rapist, a torturer and a slanderer. I wish no one harm but like I said I truly cant say that I have reached that level of " LOVE YOUR BROTHER" . Peace and love be with you.

Silly Christian thinks that only Jesus teaches love...
There were many Gods and religions that taught love, why don't you mention those?? Oh I see you were raised a Christian and think that’s the only true thing because your mommy said so. How silly you are...

Face it, you can't change anybody's mind. Atheists have as much reason not to believe in God as you do to believe in Him. You can't change that, your word doesn't make anything true. The loving part is hard, they just choose not to believe in what you do, IS that so hard to understand, and respect?
