The Bible states that when the Egyptian King Shishak invaded he took EVERYTHING from the temple. However the Israelites continued to sacrifice on the special yearly day and they would not have been able to do that without the Ark. The rumour is that there is a secret room built under the temple where the Ark is hidden when there is a risk of invasion. It may still be there.

I think if you go back to the times of the Knights Templar...and if they actually ever had the Ark of the Covenant, they would concievably have hidden it in a cellar or underground tomb type place. Probably under a Church somewhere or a prominent building which would not be likely to be destroyed.
Best wishes, Mike.

The Old Ark of Covenant was stolen and either destroyed or disappeared and will be revealed later in the New Heaven(Rev 11:19 KJV).
In this dispensation, the New Ark of the Covenant is Jesus, and His Holy Spirit dwells in the temple within those that accept Jesus as Savior.
May God Bless You!

When the Babylonians destroyed Jerusalem and plundered the temple, the ark was probably taken away by Nebuchadnezzar and destroyed, as no trace of it is afterwards to be found.

Ethiopia. Devout Ethiopian xtians guard its final resting place. it makes sense because after shishak invaded the lower Israel, he took it with him before it was taken south to Ethiopia. Either that or Indiana Jones is still pissed because its in some army warehouse.

It was replaced when the Temple was built and the Scrolls were kept there.
Yours is a western view of this and not a Jewish one.
