For example: Gnostics, Messianic Jewish, Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, and the various universalistic faiths who regard Jesus as an avatar, boddhisattva, etc... Why don't you just swallow your pride and accept them as fellow truth seekers, God worshippers and veneraters of Jesus? It would make more sense than all this division and hatred. Being a fundamentalist doesn't give you a monopoly on truth, does it?

Could they hear loud voices? How come nobody else was hearing them? Did the voices tell the people how to write and how to spell, etc?

I recently heard a relatively old song and I was wondering who agrees with these lyrics....

Emptiness is loneliness
Loneliness is cleanliness
Cleanliness is Godliness
And God is empty just like me!

If they don't have a book, how could they possibly hope to even begin to think about leading some sort of moral lifestyle?

This is like grand central station for atheists in here! Half the questions they ask are just plain stupid because they don’t know how to read or research. And the other half are just plain senseless, because regardless what a Christian may write in response, they don’t care. They’re not going to change their mind. And neither are the atheists going to change the minds of the Christians by asking questions.

they say they are here to serve "him" they must obey "him" they must love "him" more than anything in this world, including their own family. they must spread "his" word, they must thank "him" for everything good that happens, yet bad things are their own doing, they must live in fear of "his" wrath.....the list goes on and on.

they will say that there is a "reward" for all of this, but people who kept black slaves would "reward" the slaves with food, and at least the slaves new their master was real, whereas monotheistic religion followers have to just hope that their master is real. (oh, sorry, they "know" "he's" real)

i just don't understand why someone would want to be a slave, although i do understand the mechanics of brainwashing, and this seems to fit into that.

can someone prove to me that i'm wrong?

The best example I can find that is in favor of heaven is 2:62.
2:62 Those who believe and those who are Jews and Christians, and Sabians, whoever believes in God and the Last Day and do righteous good deeds shall have their reward with their Lord, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.
Others include; 3:64, 3:199, 582, 5:46

But...
The best evidence for Christians and Jews going to hell is Surah 98.
Also Surahs such as 9:29, 5:51 say Christians and Jews will have either go to hell or have to pay Jizyah in their lifetime.

Additionally, what about Christian sects that weren’t around in the time of Christ, such as certain denominations which have taken Christianity a different direction such as LDS?

First off I just want to get it straight that I used to be christian but am not anymore, I'm wiccan now.
Why are there two creation stories?
Where is "Lilith" mentioned in the bible?
Why did god lie to Adam and say he would die if he ate the fruit(Adam live for 900+ years) but satan was right when he told Eve that they wouldn't die? Why did god lie and satan tell the truth?
I don't want any of the "god was testing them" crap or anything like that. Real answers only please.
Thanks.

gave us His Son Jesus to save us all?
We all are sinners and we should ask the Lord to forgive us. If we are truly sorry He will forgive us, we only have to apologize.God will forgive our sins and He loves us even when we are atheists, but of course there's hell waiting for us when we refuse to believe in Him.
To those who are suffering lean on Him.He could do anyhting. He gives us all a second chance. And remember one cannot truly be happy without God.
By the way, did you ask Him for forgiveness?
Thank Him for He saved you!

...........not one, not by the Romans, the Jews none, zero. all accounts of Jesus were written after his death.

There are lots of records about other events that were happening at the time. There are accounts of Gaius Sulpicius Galba becoming consul and how Roman law replaced Celtic customs in Gaul.

In the year 33 AD there are detailed accounts of a financial crisis in Rome, due to poorly chosen fiscal policies. Land values plummeted, and credit is increased. These actions lead to a lack of cash, a crisis of confidence, and much land speculation. The primary victims are senators, knights and the wealthy. Many aristocratic families are ruined. This is all well documented but nothing about a man rising from the dead.

Why is this ?

Surely there would be many many acounts of a man who performed miracles, rose people from the dead and rose from the dead himself.

Surely the Romans who kept meticulous records would have documented in detail these events.

What do you think? Islam does not allow mistreatment of women. But the so called "islamic" countries have taken a little bit of Islam (the parts that suit the men) and a lot of the culture (the parts which are anti woman), mixed it together, and labeled the whole concoction Islam. How do you feel about this quote?

""The believers who show the most perfect faith are those who have the best character and the best of you are those who are best to their wives" (Tirmidthi)."

It could not be the ancient city of Babylon. Revelation was written at the end of the first century C.E. and describes events that would reach down to our day. The Encyclopedia Americana says: “The city [Babylon] was taken by the Persians under Cyrus the Great in 539 B.C. Later Alexander the Great planned to make Babylon the capital of his eastern empire, but after his death Babylon gradually lost importance.” Today the city is an uninhabited ruin.
In the symbolism of Revelation, Babylon the Great is referred to as a “great city,” a “kingdom” that rules other kings. (Rev. 17:18) Like a city, it would have many organizations within it; and like a kingdom that includes other kings in its domain, it would be international in scope. It is described as having relations with political rulers and contributing much to the wealth of men in commerce, while itself being a third element that “has become a dwelling place of demons” and a persecutor of “prophets and of holy ones."

"People gave ear to an upstart astrologer who strove to show that the earth revolves, not the heavens or the firmament, the sun and the moon. Whoever wishes to appear clever must devise some new system, which of all systems is of course the very best. This fool [or 'man'] wishes to reverse the entire science of astronomy; but sacred Scripture tells us that Joshua commanded the sun to stand still, and not the earth."

- Martin Luther, in reference to Copernicus.

Is this any different than our discussion of evolution vs creationism?
