Could they hear loud voices? How come nobody else was hearing them? Did the voices tell the people how to write and how to spell, etc?

there are more than one kind of writting in religious texts. Some are obviously reported to the writter through visions and then it was up to that person to translate the vision into words. No doubt a tricky thing to do. The reader is supose to understand that.

Some scripture was given in word form like the 10 commandments and according to Mohamed the entire Qu'ran.

Some such as proverbs was given through insight and from experience no doubt coupled with prayer.

The long of it is that God can and does communicate with man in many ways and it is up to the seeker to understand what God is telling him now today and it is those messages from Him you should be concerned with first and formost, unless your gift is teaching then questions such as yours can be important in ones ministery.

The people I have always felt sorry for were the editors. Can you imagine. Here is the word of God, and here is the word of God and they are the same story and don't agree. Your job is to make a single story out of slightly different facts have it make sense and don't leave anything out.
God did not spell check. The most famous example is where Mark makes 13 errors in the Greek in one chapter. Neither does He keep the copiers from mistakes.
These people were inspired by God. I hope you have experienced inspiration. You wonder where is comes from.
