Maybe Yahoo Answers needs a "Anti-Religion & I Hate Spirituality" category.

what is the point of your question?
I gather that you don't want atheists asking questions in here cause you feel that they don't have a place in this section, yet by asking a question in this category that is directed at them you are making them come here to answer.
And what makes a question any more stupid than a question from a Christian or a Catholic? There are some people that do ask serious questions where they are genuinely looking for answers by people of other faiths or those who doesn't believe as to learn more about why they have chosen to live the way they have. A lot of people who are atheists have done plenty of reading and research, but probably not in the areas your looking at - such as the bible or other religious texts. Instead they have read science books and researched subjects such as evolution and science based facts which have hard evidence of proof behind them.
And what makes a question senseless? Who are you to decide what is a senseless question? Is it cause your of a religious background and anything that challengers your way of life is something you don't want to have to deal with?

This is such a common question and it's amazing to me that it's even asked. My response to the believers is:
You should be glad that Atheists are on here.
Do you not have compassion in your heart? Do you not believe that their very souls are in danger of forever being burned in hellfire? Well, this is your chance to be a good believer and reach out; or are you only concerned with preaching to the choir?
I believe that you are on here for the best of reasons - you love your faith and believe it will save you and others.
Haven't you ever really wondered why Atheists are on here as well?
They, like you, believe there is probably no more important question in the world than "Is there a God?"
So why would you be upset if they were just trying to test themselves to see if there really is a good reason to believe? You should be glad (unless you are happy with the thought of souls burning in hell, which I believe you are not.)
But Atheists have good intentions as well (even though they may not always show it). Imagine for a moment that they are right and there is no God...
Then religious wars, scaring children with threats of hell, and persecution of homosexuals were all just a shameful waste. Moreover, look at the atrocities caused by the beliefs of groups like the Catholic church that teaches AIDS ridden areas of Africa and the Americas that condom use is a sin. They are (at least partly) responsible for the loss of innocent life. Believers spend more time worshiping their imaginary friend then they do caring about real issues like alleviating poverty, or doing something about the great problems this planet faces. With that in mind, the best thing atheists could be doing is trying to introduce people to a logical way of thinking and overcome their superstitions.
Also, consider what you asking this question really says... if you are worried about people who question your belief system, maybe you are not all that secure in your beliefs. If your beliefs are logical, then answer their questions; it shouldn't be an issue.
Ultimately, what matters is who is right (if any of us), and how do we know that.
If you wish to know more about the damage that religion causes, I suggest you read "The End of Faith," and "Letter to a Christian Nation" by Sam Harris.

Here we go again.
Look, kid, I know that it's threatening to your Sunday School belief system to discover that adults don't share your fantasies. But making up lies about those adults doesn't help your case any.
Doesn't the fact that you have to lie like this and bury your head in the sand to defend your beliefs tell you something about the quality of those beliefs? It should.
The atheists here behave better than do the believers, overall. We're far less likely to make baseless insults against others, we're far less arrogant, and we're FAR FAR more likely to give the correct answer to the questions asked. This is Yahoo!Answers. That means that the point is for people to ask questions, and for others to answer them. That doesn't mean that anyone's mind is supposed to be changed, but if you ask a question and you don't want the correct answer, you shouldn't be here.
Now, where's that bottle of Pastis?

I became an Atheist because, dear lad, I quite DO know how to research. You don't use one book as your entire library to find truth.
Live delusionally. I really don't care. I truly am not here to change your mind. You have my blessing when it comes to continuing to feel superior to everyone else. Just stay the hell out of our laws, schools, mailboxes, email boxes, and health care. Stay off my doorstep, and keep those stupid little pamphletes your church had made. We're here because Christians think the entire world needs to be splattered with their religious feces. It doesn't.

What I don't understand is why there's so much animosity here. Who cares if the people here are Atheists, Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists or dog-worshippers?! Shouldn't everyone be welcome to come and express their opinions and beliefs? Why has this forum become some theological pissing match?
Oh, and attacking people that you don't agree with makes you just as bad as those you condemn. Shame on you!

"And neither are the atheists going to change the minds of the Christians by asking questions"
Does this mean your question is pointless, or does reverse logic not apply here?

If you have a problem with that then go to a christian only web site, of which there are many. Simple! If you can"t take the heat, then stay out of the kitchen.
"Cheers" Mines a beer.

think of Y!A-R&S as a microcosm of mostly American society. It is a great thing, because it encourages healthy debate between believers and non. It is something that is generally frowned upon in physical society, as the words exchanged here can, and sometimes do lead to physical violence.

Who says that atheists aren't spiritual? I happen to be very spiritual in my atheistic beliefs. I still believe in the human connection. What is your problem? Do you feel that you have cornered the market on spirituality because you are a christian?
