If there is considerable more evidence that Jesus lived in our history than there is evidence for the (big bang theory) how can you logically conclude that Jesus never existed but swear by the big bang theory? After all the big bang is only a Theory not proven fact.
This question is for Athiests who would accept God if He showed
Himself. As for the Atheist who say they would reject God to His face, your issues exceed the scope of this panel.

If you had a chance to meet people on this site what type person would it be?

If you prayed for help while sinning on purpose do you think God would answer you?

How do these questions violate any guidelines??

Harvard University lecturer Jessica Stern, the conference's keynote speaker, spent five years interviewing extremists for her 2003 book "Terror in the Name of God: Why Religious Militants Kill."

She said it was dangerous for U.S. President George W. Bush to use terms such as "crusade" or "ridding the world of evil."

"It really is falling into the same trap that these terrorists fall into, black and white thinking," Stern told Reuters on Wednesday. "It's very exciting to extremists to hear an American president talking that way."

I've never read the entire Bible and I've never been what most people consider "religious". I've always believed there is a higher power, I just wasn't sure the Bible/Christianity was the whole story. But now I'm at a point in my life where I'd like to attend church and commit to being a believer in God. However, now that I'm reading the Bible, I'm finding it harder than ever to believe what I am reading. How does a person just put aside all the skepticism and just believe?

I don't know .... well it seems to me that a funeral where someone lays to rest--you see them deceased in body form, and it is like a more complete closure because you witness them dead.
But if you saw them alive, then to witness them in ashes in the wind, it doesn't 'seem real'--you know what I mean?
Perhaps either way feels surreal?
I know death is a touchy subject, and never have asked these questions b4. Only experienced two deaths, Grandfathers
What is a cremation funeral like that you attended? [aside from being sad of course]

I'm assuming Jesus went through puberty...so in so doing wouldn't it be understandable to believe he lusted after a woman...I mean tell me what boy going through it hasn't? It is partly biological, and if he was all man as well as god...wouldn't that be a correct assumption?

Which of the 9 different versions is your favorite one, and do you agree with the church for going with the one about "God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ".. If they had used one of the other versions, would the church be where it is today?

I have to agree that I like the current one the best, but the one about being visited by Angel Moroni - that might help non-members appreciate and understand us better. So I'm on the fence.

For reference, a couple of the the other versions I've uncovered in my research are:

- Visited by two angels
- Visited by one angel
- Visited by Angel Moroni and Jesus
- Visited by Holy Spirit

Some years ago the journal Christianity Today suggested precisely that. It is true that QM is a daunting subject. This barrier is largely responsible for the fear. But when the veil is torn away, the study of QM builds a remarkably robust Christian apologetic. When pragmatic & logically invalid interpretations are removed, there remain four possibilities for the nature of reality (based on the work of philosopher Henry Stapp). Additional analysis shows two are exclusive to theism. The third can be formulated with or without God. The last is consistent only with atheism. By considering additional criteria, options that deny God can be shown to be false.

My sister tells me that she will not attend our Father's funeral when he goes because of several reasons from the past; abuse on several levels.
The only reason why we had a discussion is he's been preoccupied for yrs. concerned 'when he goes' ect.
If you had experienced an emotionally [ect] abusive relationship w/a parent-- did not attend their funeral, do you regret it? Did you not go coz you felt you couldn't handle the pain or other reasons?
And what about family members, were they angry w/you or did they understand if you didn't go?
My sister says she doesn't think she'd be able to handle it.
What was your experience?

i don't understand why God did that. but i know i wouldn't and i know nobody would. but i also know God did it based on love, that He Himself will come and die.

I was locking up at work late last night and a lady pulled into the parking lot asking if we were open It was obvious that we were closed.

I have seen this lady once before. She offered to help me when I drove my car into a ditch.

I believe that she may be an angel.

I had just thought about this. Not saying that I believe this. but what if the purpose of the other planets was that God had made other earths and we destroyed them like we are doing now so he wiped out the human race on thoseplanets and destroyed them so life could no longer exsist on them. So here we are and hes giving us another chance. Is this stupid? And no I am not questioning my faith.

I just wanted to learn about the Church and I had heard that Mormons have to provide considerable financial support for the Church. If it's true, on what occasions to they pay to the church besides tithe? Also, is it true that Mormons are somewhat forced to tie their life to the Mormon community?(Such as hardness of taking long-term trip with families...)
*Don't tell me if you are not sure and haven't experienced or seen Mormon life in depth. NO RUMORS ARE WELCOMED.

In my opinion, it shouldn't be. Premarital sex is a sin, right? Well if someone wants to stay a virgin, or celebate, they're bound to have urges. Self pleasure can help but you still stay a virgin. I know its not the most Christian thing to do but I'm wondering, will you go to hell for it? I masturbate and fantasize but I plan on not having sex until I'm married, and legal. I have done sexual things but I feel deep regret for it.

Yesterday, Ruth Bell Graham lapsed into a coma, suffering complications from pneumonia. Earlier this week, with a doctor's approval, Rev. Graham and several of the children, including Franklin, decided to withdraw the solids and liquids from her feeding tube.

When Michal Schiavo decided to have the feeding tubes pulled out to let his wife die, the radical Christians and the Right Wing Media were raising hell. Now that Rev. Graham and his children are promoting faster death for Mrs. Graham, the same radical Christians remain as quiet as church mice.
What is also shameful is that Rev. Graham and his son, Franklin, are not even honoring her years of dreaming to be buried in her beloved mountains at the site she said she favored as recently as a week and a half ago. Instead, she's going to be buried as a site by the Billy Graham Library that she has refered as "a Disney-like building in the shape of a barn, "a circus" in Charlotte & as "under no circumstances am I to be buried in Charlotte, N.C."
