Better yet. Why is there a Religion & Spirituality section on Yahoo when there's a Myth & Folklore section...

Though I sense by your tone that this is a joke, I will answer the question. I think because it would belong in the religion section, along with books on other religions. I am Christian, but say I wanted a book on Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam or any other, though I don't believe them and would(like you with Christianity) define them as fiction(since it is against what I believe) that is where I would go to find them. It doesn't matter if you believe in it, it is still a religion. Much like this category, we are not going to believe the same, but we need to know where to look if we want to find it or have genuine questions about another's system of beliefs. If I were to have a question about another religion I would post it here. If I wanted to read a book, I would look there.

It's all about customer service. Over half of all Usians claim to be Christian. To put the Bible in the fiction section would offend most (if not all) Christians who would then boycott Barnes & Noble. Barnes & Noble wouldn't make any money :(
Same thing goes for all other religions. If you say their belief system isn't legit (for example by putting their canon in the fiction section) they become offended and Barnes & Noble loses their patronage.
In our civilized society we do our best to be accepting of others. It is rude to belittle the beliefs of others, even if you think you know they are wrong. Challenge thoughts and ideas, but leave ad hominem (sp?) attacks at the door.

through the windown perhaps or drop it page by page down the toilet...
but honestly the manager of the store is motivated to sell the thing and putting it in the fiction section will mean it wont be found and those looking for interesting fiction will not be happy finding a copy of the bible there... they are looking for some interesting reading not a confused book filled with innuendos, conflicts and inconsistencies

If you work there and you got into trouble from your manager for putting it in fiction when the accepted placing of the Bible is in the Religion section.. then perhaps you are lucky.. I think that most managers would have fired you on the spot for your disrespect.

Probably in the religion section with the rest of the Christian material.
Do you really feel that by asking a question such as this you have done something to Christianity? If so, continue. It probably effects natural selection somehow and will soon create the "Super Human Species" since humans have ceased to evolve past the post-primate stage.

Yeah, that's really funny.
Try the history, religion, or non fiction section. The Bible is an account of true events; past, present, and future.

Why is it out of all the religions in the world the losers choose to pick on Christianity? Im not even Christian and Im offended. Thats peoples faith. You cant disrespect that. Everyone says that Christians are hypocrits.... which religion doesnt have those? I choose science as my religion. If you can prove it, I believe it....but I also respect peoples life choices.

It goes in the religious texts.
The fact that you didn't know that really explains a lot.
