would you tell the judge that you would give your only son or daughter to die for another person's mistake?

i don't understand why God did that. but i know i wouldn't and i know nobody would. but i also know God did it based on love, that He Himself will come and die.

No I would not, But! I am not God either and I did not create all beings and I am not all knowing and loving.

As a Christian and a Pastor I understand it.

As a Humanbeing I can not comprehend it.

He died, but God (and Jesus too, I think) knew Jesus would come alive again. So he didn't die in a permanent way. Perhaps it is more about him suffering greatly, rather than that he 'died'. [If he did die permanently, that would be a bit scary - because Jesus is God, in a way].

In a 'parallel' situation, if we told a judge that we were allowing our 33 year old son or daughter to choose to die to save many other people, the judge would presume that our son/daughter would become permanently dead. [It would not be a 'parallel' situation if our son or daughter was a child, incapable of making a mature decision over their own life].

Syl I'm not sure why you are asking this....but I'll try to answer it from my studies from the bible. Obviously your question is about Jesus the God-Man dying for God.
Even if I were to die or you for a person
1) we are sinful and we wouldn't even be able to atone for ourselves much more for anybody else.
2) it would only be 1 person.
Jesus was sinless and He lived a perfect, righteous life...therefore Him dying is acceptable to the father and His blood is priceless enough to atone for all time.
Jesus died for His bride (the Church), therefore if you really repent of your sins and look to Jesus as your Lord and Savior , His atonement will become real to you and you will be so thankful that He did die for us. If He hadn't pay the wages of the sin of those who would ever believe on Him, then man would have to pay for them himself....in hell, forever.

Technically, Jesus rose and became the King of the Universe after just three days. So I really don't see the point in his death anyway. And why does no-one ever mention Mrs. God? Or did she divorce him and is God a single father?

I am going to use your own religion to argue this.

How did God give anything up? Did Jesus cease to exist when he was killed OR is he in heaven with dad? All Jesus had to do was go through some pain for a couple of days and then he became the ALL POWERFUL RULER OF THE UNIVERSE.....How is that a sacrifice? If I KNEW I were god on earth how could I be afraid of death? How could a couple days of pain hold any fear for me........I am immortal and all powerful.

You dont own your children, so you cannot do that. God didnt 'make' the events occur so why blame. When Jesus spread the message to everyone he connected to those people, and by doing so became one of them - this was at its highest at the point of death. I wouldnt blur God and Jesus as two seperate entities so easily, as I think it is more like Jesus was a seperate part of God as oppossed to a literal son of God.

No, but God is far more altruistic than most of us.

I love my children to much to do that, and if anyone else did, (like your so-called god), then he is sick!

Your question focuses to much on the fact that Christ died, He also rose.
