Some years ago the journal Christianity Today suggested precisely that. It is true that QM is a daunting subject. This barrier is largely responsible for the fear. But when the veil is torn away, the study of QM builds a remarkably robust Christian apologetic. When pragmatic & logically invalid interpretations are removed, there remain four possibilities for the nature of reality (based on the work of philosopher Henry Stapp). Additional analysis shows two are exclusive to theism. The third can be formulated with or without God. The last is consistent only with atheism. By considering additional criteria, options that deny God can be shown to be false.

Quantum physics has come up with the "String Theory". It postulates that all matter, everything that exists, consists of "strings" of vibrating energy. That the arrangement of these strings produces the various forms and types of all matter. The creation account describes God as "speaking" everything into existence. Sound being a vibrating energy... what conclusion could you derive?

Science has always been man's attempts to explain and understand the things of God.

It's a threat to all religions except Buddhism, which ties in closely with Quantum Physics, and is eager to accept truth on truth's terms. Let me clarify however, when I mean threat, I'm not speaking of the of original message of any religion, which in fact will strongly support quantum physics if you're inclined to read it as such. Instead the real threat is in many religions having to admit that over time false doctrines have been inducted. This will become silly to deny in the face of the facts, but is harshly inevitable. The invention of a devil or evil force driving one to naughty deeds or illusions tries to combat this effort by using fear as a tool. It has worked for centuries and still works today. Quantum physics in it's maturity will shed much light on what is and what is not reality. I feel many people will feel perplexed by this. Not to mention somewhat validated and relieved.

I would say that not just Quantum Mechanics, but all of Science pose the greatest threat to any single religion.

Science requires us to question and to look for the truth not based on faith of beliefs but on evidence. However most religions consists of events that are impossible to occur such as the virgin birth, except through faith alone. As we know two contradicting things can't both be true, therefore at least one of them has to be false. However, no one would sincerely believe that Science would retreat away from evidence. Therefore this leaves us two possibilities, either religion moderates itself to keep itself compatible with our knowledge of the world, or that it directly opposes what is true.

Quantum mechanics is only another step in bringing up this conflict, through suggesting from facts that certain beliefs of Christianity are false. Things such as there are 11 dimensions in this world, or that there is a likelihood of multiple universe. Perhaps more threatening to Christianity is its little brother Quantum gravity, through not yet fully tested, the basic framework is already there, it theorises the universe we live in is self-sustaining and so there would be no need at all for a God to intervene.

Logic is the threat to Christianity.

I don't even pretend to fully understand QM but I intend to enjoy the fruits of that discipline. I can't wait for quantum computers to become PCs.

No the biggest threat to Christianity is the Bible.

If someone actually sits down and examines it. Particularly contrasting the old and new parts they will see that the theology it is based on is hypocritical and illogical.

No, I am going with logic and education on the history of religion as the greatest threats.

Actually, I'm going to bet the problem is that they didn't understand quantum mechanics in the least but somehow assumed it applied to things, say, larger than an atom. Which it really doesn't.

well QM suggests that every thing is completely random is it is completely opposite of theism, but I don't know if it is the greatest threat to it

The greatest threat to Christianity is its total failure to deliver on its promises, not quantum theory. Evolution answered the big questions of existence.

NO! Because the greatest scientist is THE LORD GOD. Thus, HE created the universe with technological marvels from the micro world like the INVISIBLE TIME CALLED billionth, billionth, billionth of a second to also THE INVISIBLE TIME called the billions, billions billions of years. Also HE created the world of the OMEGA-THE UNENDING WORLD from wonders to unending wonders. Thus, all wonderful works and wisdom and might belong to THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY AND TO THE LAMB-THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. THANKS GOD; FEAR GOD; PRAISE GOD; HONOR GOD; LOVE GOD AND WORSHIP GOD.
