with the same data and reach different conclusions because they have different presuppositions.

the idea being that secular scientists begin with the presupposition of naturalism and creation scientists begin with the presupposition of theism.

do you think this is true?

Personally, I feel this is a distortion of the truth.

I'm kind of confused about this because everyone has their own interpretation of religion and people twist it to how it makes them feel comfortable. But all the texts insist that you must believe in a higher power. I hate people telling me what to do. The only thing I believe in is the golden rule.

This is in regards to the questions asked about the Constitution and God earlier. Obviously, this is a popular debate. What are your thoughts on the following quotes;
James Madison, the fourth president, known as "The Father of Our Constitution" made the following statement:
"We have staked the whole of all our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God."

Patrick Henry, that patriot and Founding Father of our country said:
"It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists but by Christians, not on religions but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ".

Fifty-two of the 55 founders of the Constitution were members of the established orthodox churches in the colonies.

Is it possible to answer a question: "I don't know?"

How about if your asked the three questions that ONLY organized religion answers: Where did I come from? Where am I going? Am I truely a good person?

How strong do you have to be to answer these with: "I don't know."
-And still feel right......

If the law is abolished then why the need for the sacrifice of Yahshua at all? According to scripture if there is no law there is no sin. If there is no sin there is no need for forgiveness of sin nor reconciliation.

Have you ever heard of Jewish idioms especially first century idioms?

Destroy (abolish, destroy is a much closer translation) the law = Interpret incorrectly.

Fullfil the law = To interpret correctly or give the full meaning, which he went on to do for several laws. ( no wait he abolished them. no ... he established them... er I don't know it was all nailed to the cross but we have to live by the ones we like .. or something like that.)

In God's eyes, is time spent here a test of your religious conviction, since defending one's position here is a fundamental part discussion/debate? If so, in this test, are you prepared to concede defeat at any level?

Some here may characterize the arguments made by non-believers as temptations that MUST be deflected, but for it to be a true test you must acknowledge and allow the potential for failure going in.

*Should the goal here be not simply to with withstand religious pressure, but to strengthen one's beliefs through enhancement, if presented with the opportunity?*

Note: The same case can certainly be made for ALL those here, not simply Christians, but that is irrelevent as this question is directed toward Christians.

There are numerous religions in India..
Islam,Christianity,Sikhs,Jains,Buddism,Parsees, jews, and people from all the religons of the world are there in india....

Why you missionaries alone comment that you are a perseucted lot???

there are hundreds of sites which give information about the persecution of christians around the world..

these are all false

the problem comes only if missionaries try to convert people by coercive means and say that its their right to convert people.

ask any normal christian how good India is
these missionaries are spreading a bad image about India...
i have lot of christians friends...

India is more peaceful than any nation, if you know how to live here...
Donot take liberty of the freedom given to you here....
Conversion is not a right here...
Stop conversion and there will be single persecution-I promise

Our forefathers both assumed and declared basic Judeo-Christian principles as part of our heritage as a place of religious liberty. The Ten Commandments are an integral part of our legal system!

The Founding Fathers intended a separation of church and state, why didn't the early Supreme Court decisions reflect that sentiment? Many of the early Justices actually wrote and ratified the first amendment.

Look up the Supreme Court decision in "Church of the Holy Trinity vs. United States" in 1892. The following quote comes from that case:

"No purpose of action against religion can be imputed to any legislation, state or national, because this is a religious people...This is a Christian nation."

Are we really that different from the animals in the wild? We are territorial. We must reproduce. We have complex family systems. We have preadtors and prey. The only difference between us and the animals is that we feel the inate need to try to explain our exsitence instead with the supernatural instead of just living it. We feel superior because we have complex language to describe our "feelings" Your thoughts

Catholicism has been around the longest and the Holy Spirit was guiding them long before the hundreds of groups that exist today.......

Are Non Catholics saying that the Holy Spirit was wrong when teaching through the Catholic Church....but he is correct when teaching through them ?

"And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man (JESUS) will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven." (Luke 12:10)

This is not about a guy in Washington who said "the human being and fish can coexist peacefully" - not this time.

Did you realize that the rest of the western world is rolling on the floor laughing because of "creationists" that dumb you down?

My girlfriend is a teacher in a school at the border between the Netherlands and Germany, with students from both countries.

She spoke about the Creation Museum in Petersburg. The children did not believe her until she showed them the story in the newspaper the next day.

There was a lot of laughter in that class... the children are 8-9 years old, they are all sure that there is more to that satanic "evolution" than to the story of an old man who buried dino bones.

So, my question is: did you pick up that you look like clowns, thanks to some christian falsifiers who annex science?

I don't want to offend you. But I really ask myself why you accept that your "christian taliban" do not only make a fool of themselves but of the whole nation?

Am I correct that science is never fact, but remains a hypothesis that cannot be disproven?

How does a theory become scientific fact?

Do I understand correctly that many items that science states is factual is merely a widely accepted theory?

Doesn't that require faith that the theory is accurate?

My answer is yes! There was enough time from the flood for the population to grow to the estimated value at the time of Christ. But the entire solar system could not contain the population that would developed in a million years.

Estimates at the time of Christ---300 million total human population. If the flood was about 5000 B.C. and if the average length of a generation was forty years, Noah's family of eight would reach 300 million by Christ's time if each family had an average of 2.3 children. Thus the theory that the human race had been multiplying for a million years or more seems absurd, even with modern medicine and technology being available.

If the annual growth rate were 0.01 percent, in a million years the population would be 10/43 people. Enough people to fill 3,500 solar systems with bodies out to the orbit of the planet Pluto(formerly).

My point: "God is Creator" and he Created all things.
