Is it possible to answer a question: "I don't know?"

How about if your asked the three questions that ONLY organized religion answers: Where did I come from? Where am I going? Am I truely a good person?

How strong do you have to be to answer these with: "I don't know."
-And still feel right......

Well said.

I think however, you will find that the last question is not one that stems from religion solely. It is a good question to ask, and useful answers can be found with reason and compassion.

Not very, because it is true that none of know the answers to those questions. (They are all opinions, and cannot be proven easily, if at all). If you need a religious answer, you came from a spiriualistic being. Where you are going? Well, since there are multiple religions that say if you're not a part of them, you're going to hell. Since we cannot be part of more than one religion at a time, we can safely assume that everyone is going to hell. Are you truly a good person? That's up to the spiritualistic being.

I have answered ' I don't know' in the past. I find nothing wrong with not understanding everything about a God that created the heavens and earth, continues to keep the universe stable and even more amazing, continues to love those that are just obstinant.

Some of those that you asked, I do know the answer too ;)

I've answered "I don't know" before. I agree with something ~Pangel~ said yesterday:

. . . you know what , I don't know everything , I don't have all the answers
I only know what I believe to be true and it sits well with my heart and mind
and I respect everyones choice in what they believe to be true , because their heart and mind feels the same
I cannot and will not tell anyone that what they feel is wrong , because we are all different people , with different needs and a different understanding of things

Philosophy answers those questions. You can discover the answers while you work on your world view.

No one actually knows anything for sure. You can't expect good answers for those questions.

If I don't know, I don't answer.
I came from my parents.
I'm going on with my life.
And yes, I am truly a good person--even though I don't worship an invisible sky pixie.

How can anyone know? Don't say..."because I follow the way of God...I believe.." Blah blah, how can anyone really know? I love "I don't know" because it is the only thing any of us do know.

That is a good question.

I don't know.
