Can you believe that? Does this God really want to save people from hell? Girls is my only weakness although I'm 22 and still a virgin for God but I just can't hold it anymore. Anyway if He wanted me to go to heaven He'd take a part off my body untill marriage or sex before marriage wouldn't be a sin. I just can't understand God, damn heaven isn't free like many christians make it seems like. This price is highhhh. No sex before marriage???

There is a popular belief that Marie magdalene was jesus sex partner, what's your take on this?

Jesus had a child with Mary Magdalene, with whom he was married. The descendants of this child became the Merovingian kings of France.
The Church has suppressed the truth about Mary Magdalene and the Jesus bloodline for 2000 years.
A secret order protects these royal claimants because they may be the literal descendants of Jesus and his wife, Mary Magdalene, or, at the very least, of King David (the Davidic line) and High Priest Aaron.
This secret society known as Priory of Sion has a long and illustrious history dating back to the First Crusade starting with the creation of the Knights Templar as its military and financial front. The Priory is led by a Grand Master or Nautonnier.
It is devoted to returning the Merovingian dynasty, that ruled the Frankish kingdom from the fifth century to 751, to the thrones of Europe.
The Roman Catholic Church tried to kill off all remnants of this dynasty and their guardians, the Cathars and the Templars, during the Inquisition, in order to maintain power through the apostolic succession of Peter instead of the hereditary succession of Mary Magdalene.
A variation on the theory is that instead of dying on the cross, Jesus (in this story known as Yuz Asaf) fled to Kashmir where he died in old age, returning to Srinagar where he had originally been influenced by Hindu and Buddhist teachings. 1 This theory is lent credence by close comparisons of Jesus' sayings in the Gnostic Gospel of St Thomas, which are seen by some as closely paralleling classical Buddhist Sutras.

The Jesus Bloodline "theory" also has parallels with other "disciple flight to distant lands" stories, such as the one that Joseph of Arimathea travelled to England after the death of Jesus taking with him a piece of thorn from the Crown of Thorns, which he later planted in Glastonbury. Historians generally regard these stories as medieval inventions.

Are you aware that there are many Christian documents that were written during the First Century C.E. (such as the Gospel of Peter, the Gospel of Thomas, The Shepherd, the Didace) that aren't part of the Bible? Are you aware that the decisions as to which writings would be included in the Christian Bible were made over 1600 years ago?
Tell me everything you know about (1) those book-choosing/book-rejecting people in the Fourth Century C.E. and (2) the decision-making processes that they used and (3) explain to me why you trust them so much. Can you name even one of them?
Aren't you terribly worried that some of what's in your Bible doesn't belong there, or that there's something left out that is very important? Aren't you taking a huge leap of faith ... not with regard to your God, but with regard to the Fourth-Century folks who cobbled together the oddball collection of writings we now refer to as "the Bible?"

The Epicurean paradox. It still hasn't been answered by theists.

If God is omnipotent and omnibenevolent, why does He allow bad things to happen?

If God is all-powerful then He cannot be all-loving. If God is all-loving then He cannot be all-powerful. Otherwise why does He allow genocides, famines, natural disasters etc?

I'll pre-empt those who will inevitably say "free will":

There wasn't much free will for the victims of Katrina or the tsunami.

Consider, before you answer, that HPV can and is spread by rape, not just consensual sex. So if you're certain that your daughter won't have sex before marriage, fair enough, but are you certain that (1) she won't be raped in her lifetime or (2) that her husband will be an HPV-free virgin and will remain faithful to her forever?

Atheists have leverage points like fear of harm coming to self and family and believers have these same points. But believers also have a whole list of potential fears like fear of hell, the devil and gods wrath so they have more potential leverage points. Agree?

There seems to be two categories of people.

Type 1 people feel that religion is a personal choice and that everyone needs to make the decision that best fits them. These people don't seem to care if their spouse or children follow the same religion as they do, nor do they care overly much about converting people. Their religion is important to them, certainly, but they see it as a personal thing, like their car choice or hair color.

Type 2 people feel just as strongly about their religion, but they feel that it is Right and all other religions are Wrong. They try to convert people whenever possible and they want their family to be the same religion too.

My next question is, Do some religions fall more naturally into those types? It seems like most (not all) Christians are Type 2 and most (not all) "alternative religion" followers are Type 1. In other words, is it the religion or the person that determines the mentality?

Earlier someone began ranting about how we know nothing of Muslim religion yet she didn't even know there were 5 pillars not 4. Is it right for people to be ranting at us for not knowing a religion and not liking it when they don't even have their facts straight?

even if they are looking for advice on a belief that isn't yours ...
why do some feel the need to preach and try to sway them ?

someone was just asking for advice on Buddhism and someone them told to find Jesus
why not just be helpful and give them the advice they are looking for or pass the question by ?
I am not Buddhist , but I knew of some information that would help them
If a Christian needed advice , I would try my best to give them any information I could
I have looked up churches , Saints names , Hindu Gods etc...
whats wrong with just doing the right thing and being helpful , instead of seizing a chance to preach ?

How much do they know about their religion anyway? Do they know about the four pillars? Do they know about the pilgrimage? Do they even know that jihad -doesn't- mean killing at will and that it is a really tiny part of Islam? Or do they just assume that Islam is a violent religion and then when people ask them if they care about Muslims, they point out 9/11 or say no, I just don't like their religion when they don't know a thing about it?

An atheist posted this as an answer to a question. Is it proof that they secretly believe in God? or proof that human beings can know right from wrong without a religious concept?

Bonus points for naming the source! (Not that I can give bonus points, but it the thought that counts)

i may understand that people may believe literally in the bible but what about logics?
If one man (and his family, let´s say 10 people altogether) had to build an ark that can accomodate a couple of each and every animal specie and family (not only two dogs but two german shepherds, bulldogs, rottweiler and so on) with the resources they had at hand (limited) with the tools they had at that time (no cranes, no bulldozers, no lorries), how long would that take them? 100 years?
if you are going to tell me that god helped them then why wouldnt he build the ark himself? in the bible it says that he commanded noah to build the ark.
