Earlier someone began ranting about how we know nothing of Muslim religion yet she didn't even know there were 5 pillars not 4. Is it right for people to be ranting at us for not knowing a religion and not liking it when they don't even have their facts straight?

Well, it wasn't exactly a rant. I'm not the one who claimed to know everything about Islam. I'm asking people who say they know when they don't. Which isn't you. So why are you bothered by it?
I think it's funny how you'll pick that out. So I wasn't thinking when I said 4 and not 5. Is that all you've got?

I think what you described there is irony. Hypocrisy would be if she didn't know other religions yet rants about people not knowing hers. Though I doubt she knows others if she doesn't even know her own. Anyway, no that's not right.

In what book did Wisdom hew her 7 pillars.Read until you find out. Be careful religion can get you in trouble or even crucified. That is if you get more into relationships than religion...ponder this...lol

Very interesting.
What could be that person's motive?
Perhaps just a kindly non-Muslim trying to alleviate anti-Muslim prejudices.
I think hypocrisy is too strong a word for it. It's probably just sloppy thinking.

If everyone only could write about what they know for certain on Y/A, there would be no answers. 99% of the answers are BS and unsubstantiated. It is what we learned from TV and we all know how reliable that is.

Apparently it's a popular thing to do. Check out Christopher Hitchen's book "God is Not Great..."
