Well today was Pentecost Sunday and that took precedence over Memorial Day. Memorial Day was mentioned in the sermon and prayers and I did play some appropriate Patriotic hymns at the close of service (I'm the organist).

yea. Memorial day is to thank each and all of the fallen or injured squaddies and the veterans too. My brother is interior the Marines. he's in basic terms 22. i'm gonna call him in fairly yet he on no account solutions his telephone. =(

Our church prays for those in the military every week not just on the Sunday before Memorial day.

No. Memorial Day is a civic holiday, not a religious one. We prayed for those serving, for those who have lost loved ones, and for peace. I don't believe patriotic songs have any place in worship. Worship is about God, NOT country. God n country aren't one word!

it's scary to think religion and thier war heroes are in a sanctuary that condones violence and crusades

it was to be for the fallen not the living originally before Hitler made Nationalism look cool, blended with coorporations and religion, military and capitalism
