For example: My sister-in-law put on her wedding gown and crashed her car into a tree because Jesus told her to (she was going to join him in heaven and be his bride. Instead she just totalled her car and ended up in the hospital).

My sister used to sneak around town at night putting Jack Chick tracts in peoples mailboxes.

How about you?

Behold, the messiah. Jesus has returned...as a shark. He so cares for his flock, that he was crucified yet again, this time by a stingray, long known as the Roman centurian of the fish world... What more proof do the unbelievers need?

Catholics ever notice how some Protestants talk about belonging to a "bible church" and assume reading the bible is the same as knowing the context?

It sometimes leave me feeling they've turned Christianity into a comic strip without the superheros and mystical supernatural characteristics of God's Church. Although these persons claim to be members in so-called "bible churches" I never feel the same holiness in their churches or congregations could it be the absence of the blessed sacrament and Christ's real presence?

Also, do you think you need religion to go to heaven, or is being spiritual enough?
I am a spiritual man that believes in the one true God, however, I refuse to accept any religion doctrine, or their beliefs.

Time and again when I ask questions, I get responses like, "I have my belief, and you have yours".

No, I don't have one. I take a stand as an atheist because I'm not prepared to make statements about existence based on faith. I accept facts that are supported by evidence.

It defies logic to suggest that the bible could possibly qualify as reasonable evidence when it has been discredited in so many ways.

Atheism is based on rational thought.

Religion is based on FAITH and faith alone. That's why theism is BELIEF.

Atheism is a lack of beliefs. An atheist will not take a stand based on faith.

To suggest atheism is a belief is an insult to the capacity for rational thinking that we, as humans, are so lucky to have evolved.

When someone possess by a demon/evil spirit and a believer casts it away the in the name of Jesus, isn't that proof that both God and satan exist? How am I still alive when evil people in my country Haiti sent zombie and did all kind of magic just to kill me? I am more than a conqueror, I am victorious.
Atheists, why don't you just say that you won't do the will of God instead of saying that He doesn't exist?

for most protestant christians, they say we are immediatley judged after death and sent to heaven or hell.

ok....then why would jesus come and rapture all the saved in christ and take them to heaven IF THERE ALREADY THERE?

And for the unsaved, why would they need to be judged at the great white throne judgement and sent to hell IF THERE ALREADY THERE?

please help

I was born as a Muslim, and being taught by the older generations religious teachers, that questioning too much on the religion is an abstinence which may led to astray.
(Today I know that I can freely question & enlighten myself from anything)

In this section, the questions, feedbacks, diatribes are way beyond my imaginations, to the extend people challenge the existence of God! And make fun of God? Oh my GOD!
Well, okay.

It has been 6 months here in Y!A and I think..., detest or criticize own/ones' religions is not bad at all.

No matter how harsh the criticisms or hatreds are in this section, and how offended I got, in end I found them very helpful for me to 'align' or ''check & balance' my religion practice, the rationale, humanity to all and all other good reasons & as required by the religion.

Alright, wish you all have a good weekend!!

What could be more selfish than wanting salvation? Out of the 100,000 different sects all believe they are the correct one and only those will go to heaven. Why is it that all Christians just want to take and not give? But what can you expect from a religion that doesn't let you think for yourself.

I was high up in the mountains and all of these shaman looking people were watching, some laughing and some crying.

I was sitting at the head of my body watching birds devour me. when it got down to bones the shaman chopped the bones into small pieces that the birds carried off.

Funny enough it was a really peaceful dream and I woke up feeling good.

What was that all about?

I've heard a lot of opinions on this subject. Christians and Jews say he's God/Son of God. And Muslims say he was a great prophet. But if he was just a prophet then how can u explain the book of Revelation which is the revealing of Jesus and talks about how he holds the keys to whether u go 2 heaven or hell and how angels and others are gonna bow down to to the 'Lamb' etc.

I've wondered this myself for a time now and i thought i'd see what others thought.
With human inteligence and technology at an all time high we are the smartest we've ever been. With this in mind i find it impossible to believe that we still believe the stories behind religion. Every religion i know about has been documented by man. and this allows for human flaw and interpretation.
The amount of times scrolls and transcripts have been translated and even before there was scrolls of documentaion the story was passed by word of mouth. The story might have changed along the way.
From what i see as an outsider, all religions tell you sets of guidelines in which you should live your life and there is normally a heaven and a hell of some kind. If you stick to the rules you enter heaven (good) if you dont then your damed to hell (bad)
So basically all religions say their god is the only true god. This is surely a sign that there is no god as religion believe.

If you read my questions you will see what I mean. The stupid, heartless, brainless, uneducated answers I've gotten on some of my post were so bad, I just can't see how I can stand it anymore. I'm a proud non-believer in God and I can't stand to see people making claims about their belief being logical yet provide no proof. The Jehovah's Witnesses I often attack use the same bias watchtower site. Regular Christians use the bible to support their beliefs. The mere fact that they actually believe in all of this stuns me. I'm tired of it. Who else is?

IF we are not to make anything that is in heaven or on earth, what does that mean for people who make gold crosses as necklaces or designs for jewelry, T-Shirts, clothes, shoes, etc. What about the ones making a statue of Jesus and praying and bowing down to the statue? Even when the prophet bowed down to Jesus in the bible, Jesus told him to get up because he wasn't the one to be bowing down to but God. Why are we doing what God said in the bible NOT to do?

I previously asked what was the cut off age between innocent children and innocent adults in terms of going to hell. A Christian had written that no kids go to hell. The average age for this "cut off" between being being spared and going to hell was 13. So, by that reasoning, an adult who has lived in the jungle all his or her life and has never seen a missionary will go to hell? If so, why? It is not his or her fault that this information was not available.

A North Carolina judge has ruled that the Quran or any other religious text can be used to administer an oath in court. Before this, one could only use the christian bible, say 'so help me god' without a religious text or by affirming without any religious connotations or texts.

Do you agree or disagree with this ruling?
