It sounds as if you and I are in the same position. I too do not follow a religion but have a very strong personal relationship with God and through that relationship, he has told me that religions are made by man by their own interpretation of what he has tried to tell them.

Spirituality is having or desiring a relationship with God. Religion is the established set of values, beliefs, ideals, and practices that surround a group of people or culture. It is an established doctrine to which you ascribe.

You other questions can be answered by understanding your own belief system. In Christianity, getting to heaven is not about religion, its about your relationship with Christ.

It is certainly your prerogative to believe anything you wish. You can even establish your own worldview, but I'd be willing to bet that there is a philosophical perspective that you relate to. In any case to disbelieve in religion is itself a belief in something religious, so you are essentially contradicting yourself.

It sounds as if, though being spiritual, you still have some doubts about the meaning of life and the true nature of religious practices. Your experiences may not have been great, but religion serves a purpose. Again referring to Christianity, the purpose of religion is to keep each other whole, alive, and healthy. It is about fellowship and the purpose of fellowship is to keep each other afloat in a world of sin where Satan tries to take over by winning one soul at a time.

I challenge you to explore your religious options and hope that you will find a place that you feel like you can truly express your spirituality with the acceptance and love from others.

Keep the faith!

Basically if you are spiritual you may believe that there is something out there bigger than, weather you call that god or not. They believe in that but reject the whole organized religion thing. Spiritual is what you feel, Religion is the doctrine that you use to worship.

You can be religious and faithfully go to church every Sunday, but still be lost. Being spiritual means to have a relationship with God. That is what He is looking for . The bible talks much about the hypocrites in the old days.God was not pleased with them.If you have given your heart to the Lord and worship Him in Spirit and in Truth, then you should not worry about what others think. Jesus said that there is one church . We have separated it into different doctrines , that is not of God.Keep reading your bible everyday and pray for God to reveal Himself to you. He is the one to answer all your questions.
God bless.

I could "religiously" do anything. Spiritual is more of a connection. Nothing but a relationship with Jesus will get anyone to heaven. He says "I am the way. No one cometh to the Father but by me." John 14:6

i think of that this question may well be interpreted diverse techniques. Being religious, for my area, is purely adhering to the guidelines and rites of the church or different association. Being religious, on the different hand, is having a deep faith and thought that what you're doing is right. it extremely is the extra ethereal, intangible area of the two traits. you may belong to a church and take part in what's happening, yet no longer probable have a documents of it on your recommendations. that's exactly ceremonious, and not based upon what you your self regard as real.it extremely is likewise relateable to the classic peoples of the Bible and the regulation of Moses. As time glided through, they further extravagant regulations and worshiped the regulation quite than the spirit of the regulation. It replaced into strictly ceremonious. this may well be religious, yet no longer religious. it is likewise possible to be religious, through having ideals and perspectives approximately what you do or do no longer do, with out certainly belonging to church or corporation. To me, religious is extra of the act of partaking in a faith and spirituality is extra the psychological view. the two, nevertheless, are needed to receive eternal life. i comprehend that i'm dedicated to the activities and ordinances that I take part in, and comprehend their magnitude and sacredness, yet I certainly have a private testimony that it extremely is what's right.

Being a spiritual being means you have decided what it means to be a human being and what actions will be necessary to become the best. We all have a right to decide our destiny for ourselves. We also have the duty to let others decide for themselves. Those religions that deny that basic freedom to anyone will have a lot to answer for.

we are each born spiritual, emotional, mental and physical.... and we are each given the responsibility to keep ourselves healthy and balanced.... would you give over your rights to know and rule yourself emotionally to strangers... or mentally or physically as if making you a slave... so why do we do it spiritually? Why do we chose to make part of ourselves slaves when nature itself requires us to be independent and personally responsible.... we are all spiritual but religion subdues spirit which creates an emotional imbalance which dulls the mind which slows the body's ability to heal.
