Personally I'm a fan of mainstream science and it's discoveries, however there are those who feel it is ALL wrong, especially when it comes to evolution, and particularly when it comes to challenging the evidence for evolution of the human species.

I'd expect arguments like "there are no transitional fossils", of which there are plenty, and I have posted examples here before, as well as "the dating methods are flawed", which doesn't explain why so many different methods all concurr. The often quoted MT St Helens example is long resolved now..

However I would like to see the reasoning behind denying the many independant fields and disciplines in applied science which cross check each other and interweave as part of the scientific descriptions of the natural world.

Remember, ALL mainstream science perspectives concurr across the globe, so any religious explanations which conflict each other will need to be unified in order to present a solid case.

Ok, what have you got then..

I can understand why Christians want to convert atheists, because we believe that without accepting Jesus as your savior, you will not have everlasting life.

But what is the reason for atheists to try and convert the opposite way? What is their driving force?

If Christians believe and we're wrong, we've lost nothing, but if atheists refuse to believe and they're wrong...

send the stupidest response you can think of to the "Answers Team?"

Oh, this is the R&S section.
Okay: If atheists don't believe they violated any guidelines, can they argue their violation doesn't exist?

Why do they say "just look around" as "proof" of their god?

Why do they get mad that people don't belive in resurrections or walking on water?

Why do they get mad that people don't dedicate their lives for a man their never met and a death they never witnessed?

If somebody was out to get you, and kept making it look like you were the wrongdoer, how would you react? If they came and took away your only means of survival, of supporting your family, of being able to see another day, what would you do? Would you sit there and do nothing, or fight back like any sane person trying to preserve their life? This video shows something very cruel, and those who are not fighting but yell get arrested for speaking out. What do you think?

I wanted to send flowers to a friend, but she said flowers are inappropriate at a Jewish funeral. She could not tell me why, just that this is her tradition. Does anyone have a factual answer to this question?

What if one day God said, there is no heaven or hell. Once you die thats it. Kaput.

Would you still worship him if there wasn't any heaven waiting when you die?

All winged creeping things that go upon all fours are an abomination to you. Yet these may you eat of all winged creeping things that go on all fours, which have legs above their feet, with which to leap upon the earth; even these of them you may eat: the locust after its kind, the bald locust after its kind, the cricket after its kind, and the grasshopper after its kind. But all winged creeping things, which have four feet, are an abomination to you (Lev. 11:20-23, BB).

Do you think we are really just souls or spirits in a body? Why do we have emotions? I was reading a book called 'elsewhere' by gabrielle zevin, and the main character goes 'elsewhere after she dies. she lives a life there as a spirit and ages backwards, until she's a baby and gets sent back to earth. d you think places like this exist or do our souls roam earth after death?

Everyone except the fundies realises that to take the bible literally is ridiculous. We have overwhelming evidence in support of the Earth being 4 billion years old and of evolution.

Yet for those christians who accept evolution, how do you know which parts of the bible to take seriously?

It's very clear with what it states about creation and floods etc.

Shouldn't the whole text be dismissed as tainted?

How can anyone boldly declare which parts are right and which parts are wrong?

Or do you just chose the bits that back up a moral stand that you would hold irregardless of the bible?
