As a Buddhist, I believe what it mean by 'soul' actually prefer to our 'mind', which make up of continuous thought.
The 'soul' not the main factor to get us reincarnated, but our 'mind' with the thoughts from the previoius moment and the previous moment since beginningless time, is the main factor for the reincarnation.

Well the whole concept of 'non-self' sort of negates the idea of a soul but in practice, I know a lot of Buddhists that DO believe in a soul of sorts.

Early Bhuddhism beleives in Individual Souls(Jeev Aathma)-But they do not beleive in Universal Spirit(Param Aathma) outside the Individual.Later Bhuddhists' Schools modified this concept..So early Bhuddhists did not beleive in Moksha-(Salvation) like Hindus-but beleived in "Nirvana" the soul without the physical and mental body.

Yes, God created all human beings with a soul... Buddhists have them whether they embrace the truth of that fact or not. A lack of faith or acceptance of a fact does not negate the existence of that fact.
