When I looked for "The God Delusion" at Borders when it was listed as #6 it wasn't located in the best seller section. I had to look in the religious section. This book wasn't even in stock at Walden Books. I am glad that more people are taking an interest in this area and maybe sometime in the near future we can get rid of religion and have peace on earth.

it's because they are able to say something with the freedom that most other people within insttitutions cannot. but it does not mean that they are taken really really seriously. they provide entertainment, and if they are coherent in their own little ways, they make sense, which is good enough for the money you spend for their works. but i think there is a part of us that wants to tickle the dignity of the establishments by giving patronage to those whom they want to be damned. of course i am talking here only about those who are against institutions.

With the recent upsurge in violence among the fundamentalist followers of the loving religion islam, there has been an incredible upsurge in violence among the fundamentalist followers of the loving religion christianity. Followers of all religions are currently in dislike mode about all other religions. Atheists simply dislike followers of one more religion than christians.

Many of us have felt that way for quite a few years. It's only now that the media are willing to publish critiques of religion.
I'm quite sure that I'm not the only atheist here whose main response to those books is "_finally_!".

Well they have readers. You know what word I just love to love? Zeitgeist and I have a feeling these books contain this word quite a bit.

Eh? I don't really see a big debate over it. It's free speech and writing. Who are you to say you want it banned or such.

They are awesome authors that's why. They talk about things that have been for too long taboo.
